Writing descriptions#

The description is everything. You need to be specific about appearance, stats, and behavior.

A good description includes details about the item's appearance, stats, and behavior. You can optionally include details you care about like what the item should be named or what the crafting recipe should be.

Advanced Options#

You can use the advanced options dropdown on the Create Items page to add a custom texture, a reference image, or a sound effect for your mod.

Custom Texture - You can upload a custom texture for your item. This will be used instead of the default texture.

Reference Image - You can upload a reference image for your item. This will be used to generate the texture for your item.

Sound Effect - You can upload a sound effect for your item. This will be used to play when your item is used.

Common patterns#

Damage values: Iron sword is 6, diamond is 7. Modded weapons usually go 8-15 for strong, 16-25 for overpowered.

Durability: Stone tools are around 130, iron is around 250, and diamond is around 1560. You should use these as reference points.

Potion effects: Common effects include speed, strength, regeneration, fire resistance, water breathing, and absorption. You should include levels (1-3) and duration.

Special abilities: These can be right-click activation, passive while held, or on-hit effects. You should add cooldowns for balance (3-10 seconds is typical).
