Answers to common questions.
Can I teleport straight to the Swift?
Yes, with cheats on: /swift:visit takes you there. There’s no command back, so use the vanilla /execute in overworld run tp @s <x> <y> <z>, or step through a rift. Without cheats, light a Deep Dark portal.
How do I get home?
Walk back into the arrival gate you came through. It always leads to the portal you used. If you came by rift, use the return rift before it closes.
Why can’t I sleep in the Swift?
The Swift hums too brightly to sleep. Beds and respawn anchors don’t work there, and if you die you respawn in the Overworld.
I played five notes and nothing happened.
The notes must be five different pitches, played within 12 seconds, on note blocks within about 12 blocks of the frame. Notes must be played by a player, not by redstone.
Where do I get Echo Shards?
Ancient city chests, sculk slashers (sometimes), Monarchs and the Sculk Monstrosity.
Where do I get Soul Blocks?
See Soul powers: excavations, Lullaby Circles, bosses, echo golems, or craft them.
My Soul Block only sparkles.
It’s still recharging: 5 minutes after you last used one. During the Swift’s Undertow it doesn’t recharge at all, so wait for dawn.
Why are some monsters on fire with blue flames?
They’re soul-warped. During the Undertow, half the monsters that spawn are tougher and burning, freezing or fleet. The warping fades when the tide turns.
My blub won’t follow me.
Only tamed blubs follow you. Keep feeding it Chimebells; each one has a 1 in 3 chance. Tamed pets can’t follow you between dimensions.
A warden found me at the portal!
A Singer’s song calms wardens for 30 seconds. Otherwise, sneak, avoid sculk shriekers, and have the melody ready before you start.
How do I stop burning after touching ichor?
Get out of the ichor. Water puts the flames out, and so does a licker’s lick.
Can I build a portal inside the Swift?
Frames built in the Swift stay dark. Travel home through your arrival gate.
Why can’t I make a white willow sign or boat?
Bedrock add-ons can’t add signs, hanging signs, shelves or boats, so the add-on has none. The Java Edition mod has all of them.
