A Addon That Adds 3 New Mobs!

Mod Wiki

Villager Ravager

Quickstart

  1. Open the Creative inventory and search for Villager Ravager Spawn Egg.
  2. Place it in a clear area. The Villager Ravager is hostile to monster-family mobs and will attack nearby hostile creatures automatically.
  3. Spawn a zombie or another hostile mob within about 16 blocks and keep the target in sight to watch the Villager Ravager charge and bite.
  4. Try blocking one of its attacks with a shield. A blocked attack can stun the ravager, after which it may roar and knock back nearby enemies.
  5. Use Baryoillager Spawn Egg and Villager Brute Spawn Egg to test the other variants. Baryoillagers are hostile to players, villagers, iron golems, and wandering traders, so spawn them in an arena.

With cheats enabled, you can summon the variants directly:

/summon com_villager_ravager_bjw4hnb5:myravager ~ ~ ~
/summon com_villager_ravager_bjw4hnb5:baryoillager ~ ~ ~
/summon com_villager_ravager_bjw4hnb5:villager_brute ~ ~ ~

Overview

Villager Ravager adds three large hostile mobs based on the ravager:

  • Villager Ravager — a heavy defender that hunts monster-family mobs.
  • Baryoillager — an aggressive illager variant that attacks players and villagers.
  • Villager Brute — a tougher monster hunter with the same crushing attack style.

They act independently once spawned. There is no taming or command system for directing them, so place them where their automatic targeting will be useful.

What It Adds

MobHealthMelee damageMain targets
Villager Ravager10012Monster-family mobs, excluding other Villager Ravagers
Baryoillager6512Players, villagers, iron golems, and wandering traders
Villager Brute7512Monster-family mobs, excluding other Villager Brutes

Villager Ravagers and Villager Brutes can attack other monster-family mobs, including other variants from this add-on. Baryoillagers do not normally seek out monsters, but they retaliate against non-illager creatures that attack them.

How To Use

Villager Ravager

Place a Villager Ravager near an area you want to defend from hostile mobs. It searches for visible monster-family targets within 16 blocks and pursues them. It can follow targets from farther away and is resistant to knockback, making it effective against groups of ordinary hostile mobs.

It does not require a village, owner, equipment, or player control.

Baryoillager

Baryoillagers are dangerous to settlements and players. They seek out visible players, villagers, iron golems, and wandering traders within 16 blocks. Keep them away from villages unless you want to create a battle.

Villager Brute

Villager Brutes hunt monster-family mobs like Villager Ravagers. Their higher health makes them durable arena opponents and defenders.

Naming

All three mobs can be named with a name tag. Naming one is useful when you want to identify a particular ravager or keep track of it during an arena battle.

Riders

Each variant has one rider seat for an illager. Special spawn variants can place a pillager or vindicator on its back. For example:

/summon com_villager_ravager_bjw4hnb5:myravager ~ ~ ~ minecraft:spawn_with_pillager_rider

Replace the entity ID with baryoillager or villager_brute to create the corresponding variant with a pillager rider. Vindicator rider events are also available:

/summon com_villager_ravager_bjw4hnb5:myravager ~ ~ ~ minecraft:spawn_with_vindicator_rider

Players cannot use this seat.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for the mobs or their spawn eggs.

Natural spawning

The Villager Ravager can spawn naturally:

  • On the Overworld surface
  • In brightness levels from 0 to 7
  • On Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty
  • Alone rather than in a herd

Baryoillagers and Villager Brutes do not have a natural spawn rule. Obtain them from their Creative spawn eggs or summon them with commands.

Spawn eggs

The Creative inventory contains:

  • Villager Ravager Spawn Egg
  • Baryoillager Spawn Egg
  • Villager Brute Spawn Egg

Abilities And Mechanics

Crushing attack

All three variants use a delayed melee attack that deals 12 damage. They can track a target without requiring a perfect path and can break through certain vegetation while pursuing enemies.

Shield stun and roar

When one of these mobs has an attack blocked by a shield, it has a chance to become stunned. The stun lasts about two seconds, then the mob performs a roar.

The roar:

  • Deals 6 damage to valid nearby targets
  • Reaches about 4 blocks
  • Launches targets with strong horizontal and vertical knockback
  • Temporarily replaces the mob's normal hostile behavior

Villager Ravagers and Villager Brutes use their roar against monster-family mobs. Baryoillagers can damage nearby non-illagers with their roar, while illagers are protected from its roar damage.

Durability

All three variants have 75% knockback resistance. Lava still damages them for 4 damage per tick, so fire and lava traps remain effective.

Terrain damage

They can break many fragile natural blocks while moving, including:

  • Crops such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, and melon or pumpkin stems
  • Leaves, saplings, flowers, mushrooms, vines, and grass
  • Bamboo, sugar cane, berry bushes, and dripleaves
  • Pumpkins, melons, chorus plants, and fungi
  • Turtle eggs and snow layers

Keep them away from farms, decorative gardens, and turtle habitats.

Drops And Experience

Drops are awarded when a player kills the mob.

MobDrops
Villager Ravager1–3 rotten flesh, 0–2 iron nuggets, a saddle with a 1-in-6 chance, and a 5% emerald chance
Baryoillager1 saddle
Villager Brute1 saddle

Looting can improve the Villager Ravager's rotten flesh and iron nugget drops and slightly improve its emerald chance.

Each variant awards 20 experience points when its last hit is dealt by a player.

Progression And Strategy

  • Use the Villager Ravager as an autonomous monster hunter near a controlled arena or perimeter.
  • Spawn targets within its line of sight so it acquires them quickly.
  • Build arenas with durable blocks and keep crops, turtle eggs, and decorative plants outside the battle area.
  • Use shields carefully: blocking an attack may stun a ravager, but the follow-up roar can throw nearby mobs in every direction.
  • Use Villager Brutes as tougher opponents for monster-versus-monster fights.
  • Treat Baryoillagers as enemies rather than defenders; they attack players and village inhabitants.
  • Name important ravagers before releasing them, especially when testing several variants together.
