Stygian Harvest Scythe

Quickstart

1. Craft the scythe using a crying obsidian, nether star, netherite hoe, and blaze rod:

1. Equip the Stygian Harvest Scythe in your main hand.
2. Use it on dirt and other hoe-tillable blocks to create farmland. Successful tilling has a 5% chance to uncover either a bone or a skeleton skull.
3. Use it to harvest fully grown wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, or nether wart. If the matching seed or crop is in your main inventory or off-hand, one item is consumed and the crop is replanted automatically.

The scythe also emits a shadowy mist while held.

Overview

The Stygian Harvest Scythe is a fireproof Netherite farming tool with automatic replanting and a chance to uncover dark relics while preparing farmland. It works as a hoe for normal tilling and can be used to maintain overworld or Nether farms.

How To Use

Tilling Soil

Hold the scythe and use it on a valid tillable block, just as you would use a normal hoe. When the block becomes farmland, there is a 1-in-20 chance of uncovering one of these relics:

• Bone
• Skeleton skull

The relic appears on or above the tilled block as an item.

Harvesting And Replanting

Break a mature supported crop with the scythe:

The matching item can be anywhere in the player’s main inventory or off-hand. One item is consumed when the crop is replanted. If no matching item is available, the crop is harvested normally but remains empty.

Only fully mature crops are replanted. Immature crops are not automatically reset.

Holding The Scythe

The scythe produces a shadowy particle effect while held in either hand. This is a visual effect and does not replace the farming interactions described above.

Crafting And Obtaining

The shaped recipe uses:

• Crying obsidian
• Nether star
• Netherite hoe
• Blaze rod

The recipe is provided to players automatically when they join the world and can be viewed in the recipe book. In Creative mode, the scythe is listed in the Tools tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Uses Netherite hoe behavior and material properties.
• Counts as a hoe for item and gameplay interactions.
• Holds only one scythe per inventory slot.
• Is fireproof.
• Always has an enchantment-style glint.
• Has no attack damage as a weapon, so it is intended for farming rather than combat.
• Mature crop replanting checks the main inventory first and then the off-hand.
• Tilling relics are selected randomly between a bone and a skeleton skull.

Progression And Strategy

• Carry the appropriate seeds or crop items before harvesting if you want continuous automatic replanting.
• Keep extra wheat seeds, beetroot seeds, carrots, potatoes, or nether wart in your inventory for larger fields.
• Use the scythe when preparing new farmland to search for bones and skeleton skulls while expanding a farm.
• Nether wart farms are especially convenient because harvested nether wart can be used to replant the same plot.
• Store the scythe safely when not farming: it is fireproof, but it is still a single-slot tool with a maximum stack size of one.
