Starfall Thunderhammer

Quickstart

1. Craft the Starfall Thunderhammer at a crafting table:

1. Equip it in your hand.
2. Use the item near mobs to trigger a shockwave and blast nearby mobs away.
3. For quick testing in Creative, obtain one with:

The shockwave affects mobs within 6 blocks. It does not target players, and it pushes mobs outward rather than dealing direct shockwave damage.

Overview

The Starfall Thunderhammer is a powerful melee weapon with a crowd-control ability. Its use action releases a nearby shockwave that launches living mobs away from you. The effect is strongest close to you and becomes weaker toward the edge of its range.

It also functions as a melee weapon, dealing 9 damage per attack.

How To Use

Melee Combat

Hold the Starfall Thunderhammer in your hand and attack normally to use it as a melee weapon. Its attack damage makes it useful against individual targets as well as groups.

Starfall Shockwave

Use the hammer while mobs are nearby to trigger the shockwave.

• The effective radius is 6 blocks.
• Mobs are pushed horizontally away from your position.
• Targets close to you receive the strongest knockback.
• Knockback decreases with distance.
• The shockwave gives affected mobs a slight upward launch.
• Players are not affected.
• The shockwave does not directly damage targets.

Use the ability when surrounded, when you need to create space, or when you want to knock mobs away from hazards such as cliffs, lava, or other players.

Craft the hammer at a crafting table using its shaped recipe:

The recipe requires:

• 2 Netherite Ingots
• 2 Iron Ingots
• 1 Stick
• 1 Nether Star

In Creative mode, find the Starfall Thunderhammer in the equipment category, or use:

Abilities And Mechanics

The shockwave checks for living, non-player mobs around the hammer’s user. The user is never affected, and targets at the very center of the effect are ignored rather than pushed.

The hammer has 2,031 durability and can be repaired with Netherite Ingots. Its sword enchantment compatibility allows it to benefit from suitable sword enchantments.

Progression And Strategy

The Starfall Thunderhammer is most effective when several mobs are close together. Let enemies approach, then use the shockwave to scatter them before continuing with melee attacks.

For defensive play, position yourself near environmental hazards or a safe boundary and launch mobs away from you. Since the shockwave is knockback-focused rather than damage-focused, follow up with melee attacks after creating distance.
