Quickstart

1. In the Creative inventory, search for Shieldworks Ledger and take it. Also take one of the seven Shieldworks shields.
2. Equip the shield in your main hand or off-hand. Sneak while raising the shield to guard against attacks.
3. Use the Ledger and choose Start Guard Trial. Four trial zombies appear around your current position.
4. Within 60 seconds, defeat all four sentinels and block two melee or projectile hits while sneaking with a Shieldworks shield equipped.
5. Stay in the same dimension and within 24 horizontal blocks of the trial's starting point. Leaving the area or running out of time fails the trial.

A successful trial awards 10 Shieldworks Mastery, increases your trial-win count by one, and gives you 2 iron ingots.

Overview

shield plus, presented in-game as Enduring Shieldworks, adds:

• Seven material-themed guard shields
• A Shieldworks Ledger for tracking progress and starting trials
• Timed guard trials against four zombies
• Two deployable Shieldworks structure blueprints
• Mastery and completed-trial tracking

The Ledger displays your current mastery, trials won, and the status of any active trial. Mastery is also displayed in the world sidebar when the scoreboard is available.

What It Adds

Shield variants

All seven variants use the same guard mechanics and durability. Their main differences are their materials, appearances, and crafting costs.

Shieldworks Ledger

The Shieldworks Ledger is the control book for the mod. Use it to:

• View Shieldworks Mastery
• View the number of trials you have won
• Start a Guard Trial
• Check the timer and objectives of an active trial
• Reset an active trial

Take the Ledger from the Creative inventory under the items category.

Structure blueprints

Two blueprints let you prepare a Shieldworks area:

• Shieldworks Monument Blueprint — deploys an iron, copper, redstone, and oak design
• Quartz-Amethyst Monument Blueprint — deploys a quartz, amethyst, oak, and iron design

How To Use

Raising a Shieldworks shield

Equip a Shieldworks shield in either hand. Sneak while an attack lands to guard with it. The shields support both melee and projectile protection and can be enchanted as shields.

During a trial, the shield must be equipped while you sneak for incoming entity or projectile attacks to count toward the blocked-hit objective. A normal vanilla shield does not count for this objective.

Starting a Guard Trial

1. Stand in the area you want to use as your arena.
2. Use the Shieldworks Ledger.
3. Select Start Guard Trial.
4. Four zombies spawn around the starting position.
5. Defeat the four zombies and block two incoming hits before the timer expires.

The action bar shows the remaining time, defeated-sentinel count, and blocked-hit count while the trial is active. Only one trial can be active for you at a time.

Ending or resetting a trial

A trial ends successfully as soon as both objectives are complete. It fails if:

• The 60-second timer reaches zero
• You leave the 24-block horizontal trial radius
• You change dimensions
• You reset the trial from the Ledger

Failed trials grant no mastery. The trial's summoned enemies are cleared when the trial ends.

Deploying a blueprint

Hold the desired blueprint and use it in an open area with loaded chunks. The structure deploys around your current position.

If deployment fails, move to a more open area and make sure the surrounding chunks are loaded.

Crafting And Obtaining

Guard shields

All shield recipes are shapeless stonecutter recipes. Place one matching material block in a stonecutter to produce one shield.

Shieldworks Monument Blueprint

Craft the blueprint at a crafting table:

Use it to deploy the iron, copper, redstone, and oak Shieldworks Monument design.

Quartz-Amethyst Monument Blueprint

Craft the blueprint at a crafting table:

Use it to deploy the quartz, amethyst, oak, and iron Shieldworks structure.

Abilities And Mechanics

Shield properties

Each Shieldworks shield:

• Has 336 durability
• Stacks to one
• Can be equipped in the main hand or off-hand
• Uses the shield block animation
• Can absorb all damage causes recognized by its shield protection
• Can receive shield enchantments
• Can be repaired with planks

A repair operation with a plank restores one quarter of the shield's maximum durability.

Trial requirements

A Guard Trial requires both of the following:

• Defeat: 4 trial zombies
• Block: 2 melee or projectile hits while sneaking with a Shieldworks shield equipped

The trial lasts 60 seconds and is centered on the position where you start it. Keep the fight within 24 horizontal blocks of that position.

Progression And Strategy

• Prepare your arena before opening the Ledger so you do not accidentally leave the trial radius.
• Use a shield in your off-hand and a weapon in your main hand for quick counterattacks.
• Let enemies approach rather than chasing them far outside the arena.
• Watch the action bar to confirm that both defeat and blocked-hit counters are advancing.
• Block attacks while sneaking, then attack between enemy strikes.
• Complete trials repeatedly to build mastery. Each victory grants 10 mastery and 2 iron ingots.
• Use the Ledger after a victory to check your total mastery and completed trials.
