Endless Tunnel Miner

Quickstart

1. Obtain an Endless Tunnel Miner from the Creative inventory, or craft one at a crafting table:

1. Stand where you want the tunnel to begin and face the desired horizontal direction.
2. Place the miner. It immediately begins clearing a one-block-wide tunnel in that direction.
3. Stay near the machine to view its progress on the action bar. The display shows the number of blocks mined and the miner’s direction.

The miner works for up to 256 blocks. When it reaches the end, it remains placed but stops operating.

Overview

The Endless Tunnel Miner is an automated mining block that excavates a straight, horizontal tunnel from its position. It follows the cardinal direction recorded when it is placed:

• North
• South
• East
• West

The tunnel stays at the miner’s placement height and advances one block at a time.

How To Use

Place the miner

Face the direction you want the tunnel to travel, then place the miner. Its direction is set at placement and cannot be changed while it is operating.

The machine begins digging automatically, so no fuel, activation item, or additional interaction is required.

Monitor progress

When you are within 24 blocks of an active miner and in the same dimension, an action bar appears showing:

• Current progress out of 256 blocks
• The miner’s cardinal direction

Only the nearest active miner within range is displayed.

Collect mined blocks

Blocks are destroyed with their normal drops. The drops appear in the tunnel, allowing you to collect them as you explore the cleared passage.

Remove the miner

Break the placed miner to stop its operation and recover the block. Its current mining progress is removed when the machine is broken.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the miner at a crafting table using:

• Iron ingots
• Redstone
• A chest
• A diamond pickaxe

It is also available in the Creative inventory under the construction category.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Each miner excavates a straight tunnel up to 256 blocks long.
• The tunnel is horizontal and remains at the miner’s Y-level.
• The miner advances automatically while it is placed.
• The miner avoids bedrock, reinforced deepslate, barriers, command blocks, structure blocks, structure voids, and other Endless Tunnel Miners.
• Protected blocks are skipped, but the miner’s progress still advances.
• A miner that reaches 256 blocks stops automatically.
• Completed miners remain as placed blocks and can be broken for recovery.
• Multiple miners can be placed in different locations or directions.

Progression And Strategy

• Place the miner at the entrance of a planned tunnel so its starting position is easy to find.
• Check the direction carefully before placing; the tunnel follows the direction you face.
• Use separate miners for parallel tunnels, branch tunnels, or tunnels at different heights.
• Keep the tunnel entrance accessible so you can return to collect drops and check progress.
• Avoid placing another miner directly in the planned path, since miners are protected from being destroyed.
• Use the progress display to judge when a tunnel is close to completion.
