Dont Move\Sleep
Quickstart
- Obtain the Don't Move\Sleep item:
- Craft it at a crafting table using the recipe below.
- In Creative mode, find it in the Equipment category.
- With commands, use
/give @s com_dont_move_sleep_tfm23hch:my_sword.
- Hold the item in your hand and aim at a living entity.
- Use the item while standing to fire Freeze.
- Crouch or sneak while using it to fire Sleep.
- Try both abilities on hostile mobs. Each shriek travels forward and stops when it reaches a living target.
Overview
Don't Move\Sleep is a handheld shriek weapon with two selectable abilities:
- Freeze: severely slows the first living target struck.
- Sleep: severely slows and blinds the first living target struck.
Using an ability damages the user, and each ability has its own cooldown.
What It Adds
- One equipment item: Don't Move\Sleep
- A forward-moving sonic shriek projectile
- Two abilities selected by your stance
- Visible sonic explosion particles along the projectile's path
- Independent cooldowns for Freeze and Sleep
How To Use
Hold the item and press the normal use button.
| Stance when used | Ability | Cost to the user |
|---|---|---|
| Standing | Freeze | 2 damage |
| Sneaking/crouching | Sleep | 4 damage |
Aim carefully before using the item. The shriek travels in the direction you are looking and can reach roughly 64 blocks before disappearing. It does not affect the user who fired it.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the item at a crafting table:
- 2 Soul Sand
- 4 Echo Shards
- 2 Beds
- 1 Book

The item is also available in the Creative inventory under Equipment. It stacks to one item and does not lose durability from use.
Abilities And Mechanics
Freeze
Use the item while standing to launch a Freeze shriek. A living target hit by it receives severe Slowness for 10 seconds, making it nearly unable to move.
Sleep
Sneak while using the item to launch a Sleep shriek. A living target hit by it receives severe Slowness and Blindness for 20 seconds, leaving it slow and unable to see normally.
Sleep costs twice as much self-damage as Freeze.
Projectile Behavior
- The shriek moves straight ahead from the user.
- It displays sonic explosion particles as it travels.
- It affects the first living entity it reaches within its hit area.
- It ignores nonliving entities.
- A projectile that hits a target disappears immediately.
- A projectile that hits nothing disappears after about 4 seconds.
Cooldowns
Freeze and Sleep have separate cooldowns of 2 minutes each. Using Freeze does not prevent you from using Sleep, and using Sleep does not prevent you from using Freeze.
Trying to use an ability before its cooldown ends displays the remaining time above the hotbar.
Progression And Strategy
- Use Freeze to stop a dangerous mob while creating distance or lining up another attack.
- Save Sleep for situations where blindness and a longer-lasting slow are more valuable.
- Keep food or healing available because both abilities damage the user.
- Aim down narrow corridors or through groups of mobs to make it easier for the shriek to connect.
- Because the abilities have independent cooldowns, alternate between Freeze and Sleep during extended fights.
