Quickstart

1. Craft the staff at a crafting table:

1. Equip the Staff Of Fog in your main hand. It cannot be equipped in the off-hand.
2. Try the staff’s three actions:
   • Use once: Launch yourself upward.
   • Use again within two seconds: Swoop forward in the direction you are looking and damage a target within six blocks.
   • Attack normally: Paralyze the target.
   • Attack while sneaking: Deliver a powerful chest stab instead.

The staff is also available in the Creative inventory under Equipment.

Overview

The Staff Of Fog is a combat and mobility weapon. It surrounds its wielder with a rotating white aura, disables enemies with ordinary attacks, and lets you launch into the air before diving forward in a damaging swoop.

It has 512 durability and a short use cooldown.

What It Adds

• Staff Of Fog weapon
• Upward launch and forward-swoop movement
• Ten-second enemy paralysis
• Sneaking chest stab
• White end-rod aura while the staff is held

How To Use

Normal attack: Paralyze

Attack an entity while holding the staff normally to paralyze it for 10 seconds. The target receives:

• Extreme Slowness
• Extreme Weakness
• Extreme Mining Fatigue

This prevents the target from moving effectively or making meaningful attacks and defensive actions during the paralysis.

Sneaking attack: Chest stab

Sneak while attacking to replace paralysis with a direct stab that deals 18 damage, equal to 9 hearts.

Use this against vulnerable or already-disabled targets when immediate damage is more useful than crowd control.

Use button: Launch and swoop

Press the use button once to launch yourself upward.

Press the use button a second time within two seconds to turn the launch into a forward swoop. You move in the direction you are looking and deal 10 damage, or 5 hearts, to the first valid entity in your view within six blocks.

If you do not use the staff again within two seconds, the launch window expires and your next use starts a new launch.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Staff Of Fog in a crafting table using:

• 1 quartz
• 1 ender pearl
• 1 stick

You craft one staff per recipe.

Abilities And Mechanics

The staff’s effects work best when you alternate control and damage: paralyze an enemy with a normal attack, then sneak-attack it for heavy damage or use the launch-and-swoop sequence to close distance.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the normal attack to stop dangerous enemies before they can retaliate.
• Sneak before striking when you need burst damage instead of paralysis.
• Look directly at your target before the second use so the swoop can connect.
• Use the first launch to rise over obstacles, then follow with a forward swoop.
• Watch the staff’s durability during extended fights; it has 512 durability and cannot be placed in the off-hand.
