Soul Splitting Katana

Quickstart

1. Craft the katana at a crafting table using iron ingots, rabbit hide, and a stick:

1. Equip the Soul Splitting Katana in your hand.
2. Attack any mob or player with the normal attack control.
3. Watch for the ring of glowing particles that appears around a successful target hit.

Overview

The Soul Splitting Katana is a one-handed curved blade wrapped in fur and silver. It is designed for close-range combat and combines normal weapon damage with a powerful direct-damage effect whenever it hits an entity.

How To Use

Hold the katana in your main hand and attack a nearby mob or player. Every successful entity hit:

• Deals the katana's regular 1 point of attack damage.
• Applies an additional 10 points of direct damage.
• Produces a visible particle ring around the target, with particles above and below it.

The direct-damage portion bypasses armor and damage-modifying status effects, making the weapon effective against heavily protected targets.

Craft the Soul Splitting Katana in a crafting table with:

• Iron ingots
• Rabbit hide
• A stick

The katana can also be selected from the Creative inventory or obtained with its item command:

Abilities And Mechanics

Soul-Splitting Strike

A successful hit applies an additional 10 points of direct damage to the target. This damage is separate from the katana's 1-point base attack and bypasses armor and damage-modifying status effects.

Hit Effect

Each successful hit surrounds the target with trial-omen-style particles arranged in a ring, with additional particles near the target's head and feet. The effect is visual and helps confirm that the katana's special hit damage was triggered.

Durability And Enchanting

The katana has 780 durability and loses durability during use. It is treated as a sword for enchanting and can receive compatible sword enchantments.

Progression And Strategy

Use the Soul Splitting Katana when facing armored enemies or targets protected by damage-reducing effects. Its direct-damage strike remains effective in situations where ordinary weapon damage is reduced.

Because it is limited to one item per stack and has finite durability, keep it in a dedicated combat slot and consider carrying a backup weapon for extended expeditions.
