Wayfinder Scrolls

Quickstart

1. Craft a Wayfinder Scroll and some Wayfinder Pictograms .
2. Hold a pictogram and right-click the top of a solid block with clear or replaceable space above it to place a floor marker.
3. Hold the scroll and right-click to travel to a random usable pictogram in your current dimension. The scroll is not consumed, so place several pictograms to give yourself more destinations.

Overview

Wayfinder Scrolls lets you mark spots around a world and travel to one at random. Pictograms are persistent markers, not paired destinations: each usable marker in your current dimension can be selected by the scroll.

What It Adds

• Wayfinder Scroll: Teleports you to a random usable pictogram in your current dimension.
• Wayfinder Pictogram: A placeable floor marker that serves as a teleport destination.

How To Use

• Place pictograms on solid ground. They can only be placed by using the item on a block’s top face, and the space above must be replaceable.
• Use the scroll with right-click. It selects among usable markers in your current dimension; it does not let you choose a destination.
• The marker’s chunk must be loaded to be considered. Keep a destination area loaded if you want it available.
• The scroll looks for a clear standing spot at the pictogram, then nearby if that spot is blocked. A valid spot needs solid ground, room for you to stand, and no fluid or checked fire and hot-block hazards.
• If there are no usable pictograms in the dimension, the scroll reports that none are active.
• Removing a placed pictogram removes it as a destination, and the marker does not drop an item.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Teleportation stays within your current dimension; markers in other dimensions are not destinations.
• Each successful use has a brief cooldown.
• The scroll chooses randomly from the usable markers, so adding more markers gives it more possible destinations.
