Frostbound Trinity

Quickstart

1. Obtain the item from the Combat section of the Creative inventory, craft it, or use:

   /give @s frostbound-trinity-g2tatrdg:frostbound_trinity_g2tatrdg
   

2. Hold the Frostbound Trinity and right-click.
3. Three floating blades appear around you and begin defending you automatically.
4. Move near hostile mobs and watch the blades cycle through attacks.
5. To dismiss the blades, crouch and right-click while holding the Frostbound Trinity.

Overview

The Frostbound Trinity is a single-stack, glinting sword that summons three spectral copies when used. The blades follow their wielder, rotate through a defensive formation, and automatically attack nearby hostile mobs with freezing projectiles.

The formation remains active until you dismiss it, die, or the summoned blades are otherwise removed.

How To Use

Summon the blades

Right-click while holding the Frostbound Trinity normally. The three blades appear around you and follow your position and facing direction.

A normal right-click has a short cooldown of about one second. Using the item again after the cooldown replaces the current formation with a newly summoned one.

Dismiss the blades

Crouch and right-click with the Frostbound Trinity. This immediately dismisses the active formation, even if the normal summon cooldown is active.

Find targets

The blades automatically search for the nearest attackable hostile mob within roughly 12 blocks. They do not require you to manually aim or attack.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe uses two prismarine shards, two diamonds, one packed ice, and one stick:

The recipe is available in the recipe book and the finished item can also be selected directly from the Creative inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

Rotating blade formation

Three blades hover around the player in a spread formation. They turn with the player and maintain their position as the player moves.

When a hostile target is nearby, the blades attack one at a time:

1. The active blade moves forward from the formation.
2. It aims toward the target.
3. It fires a freezing strike.
4. It returns before the next blade takes its turn.

Frost strike

A successful blade strike:

• Deals 4 points of freeze damage
• Applies Slowness II for about 4 seconds
• Applies frostbite for about 6 seconds
• Deals 1 point of additional freeze damage approximately every second while frostbite lasts

Striking the same target again refreshes its frostbite duration.

Sword use

The Frostbound Trinity is also a sword and can be used for normal melee combat. Summoning the blades does not require ammunition or additional materials.

Progression And Strategy

• Summon the blades before approaching groups of hostile mobs so the first attack cycle begins while you prepare.
• Stay within about 12 blocks of enemies to keep them in targeting range.
• Use the sword for close combat while the blades provide additional attacks and crowd control.
• The Slowness effect makes frost-struck mobs easier to keep at a safe distance.
• Crouch-right-click to dismiss the blades when you no longer need them or before moving through a crowded area.
