Description

Welcome to tower Greybeard. Yes, I know it isn't looking like it used to when it was first built, but a little touch up here and there and your new home will be a fantastical new place for many to live. Oh, you didn't know? The inside of the spire has enough room for several villages and of course your own quarters at the top of the spire! You could build a vast spiral staircase to the top or use the ultra convenient Elevator mod from the Villages Alive mod series. Anyway, here are the keys, the place is now yours. PS. Make sure you place it in the lowlands or the build limit will chop off part of your penthouse!

Mod Wiki

The Greybeard

Quickstart

  1. Open the Creative inventory and find The Greybeard Wand under Equipment.

  2. Alternatively, obtain it with:

    /give @s com_the_greybeard_pzwp43ue:structure_wand 1

  3. Move to a large, open area with plenty of vertical space.

  4. Hold the wand and use it while aiming at the ground or another solid surface.

  5. When the wand projectile reaches its target, The Greybeard appears around the impact area.

  6. Enter through the ground-level entrance and follow the continuous spiral staircase upward to explore the tower and reach the wizard’s chamber.

The wand has a short cooldown between uses. Place the tower carefully, since it is enormous and rises far above the clouds.

Overview

The Greybeard is a single massive fantasy wizard tower designed as a dramatic landmark. It has a broad circular base, a long tapering shaft, a narrower upper section, and a small round chamber beneath a steep pointed roof.

The tower is built to be explored rather than simply viewed. Its interior contains a connected spiral staircase that climbs from the entrance to the highest room, leaving the central shaft open for a dramatic view through the tower.

What It Adds

  • The Greybeard Wand — a Creative equipment item used to place the tower.
  • The Greybeard Wand Projectile — the wand’s visible projectile when it is used.
  • The Greybeard tower — a huge round stone structure with:
    • A wide lower base
    • A tall, gradually tapering body
    • Layered stone trim and projecting bands
    • Narrow vertical windows and larger upper windows
    • Interior floors and landings
    • A continuous spiral staircase
    • A round upper wizard’s chamber
    • A steep conical roof

How To Use

Placing the Tower

Equip The Greybeard Wand and aim at the location where you want the structure to be placed. Use the wand to fire its projectile. The tower is generated when the projectile hits.

For the best result:

  • Choose a broad, unobstructed area.
  • Leave room around the impact point for the tower’s wide foundation.
  • Make sure there is ample room above the target; the tower is exceptionally tall.
  • Avoid placing it close to important builds or terrain you want to preserve.
  • Wait briefly between uses while the wand’s cooldown expires.

Exploring the Interior

Begin at the proper ground entrance and look for the spiral staircase. Follow it upward through the tower’s interior. The staircase remains connected from the ground floor to the top room, so you can climb the entire tower without ladders or separate teleport points.

The open center of the tower makes the ascent especially impressive when looking upward or downward through the stairwell.

The Upper Wizard’s Chamber

At the top is a round chamber approximately 17 blocks across internally and 9 blocks high. Windows are spaced around the circular walls, giving the room the feel of a wizard’s study or living quarters.

The chamber is located beneath a sharply pointed roof and serves as the tower’s final destination. Furnish it with your own magical workspaces, storage, bookshelves, maps, or enchanting area.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Greybeard Wand

The wand is a Creative-use placement tool. It fires a projectile with a slight arc, so aim directly at the intended target rather than relying on perfectly straight travel.

  • Use: Fires the placement projectile.
  • Impact: Places The Greybeard at the projectile’s destination.
  • Damage: The projectile does not deal damage.
  • Cooldown: The wand has a short two-second cooldown.
  • Creative use: The wand can be used freely in Creative mode and does not require ammunition from your inventory.

Progression And Strategy

The Greybeard has no crafting or recipe-based progression. Its main progression is the climb itself:

  1. Find or create a suitable building site.
  2. Place the tower with The Greybeard Wand.
  3. Explore the entrance and lower floors.
  4. Follow the spiral staircase through the tapering shaft.
  5. Reach and customize the upper wizard’s chamber.
  6. Use the tower as a landmark, residence, observatory, or magical headquarters.

For a memorable view, approach the tower from a distance before entering. Its wide stone base and narrowing silhouette are designed to dominate the surrounding landscape.
