Simple Domain

Quickstart

1. Obtain the Simple Domain item by crafting it at a crafting table or by searching for it in the Creative equipment menu.
2. Hold the item in your hand and use it once.
3. Stay at the activation spot. A circular ring of sculk soul particles marks the ward.
4. Try taking a hit: while the ward is active, you receive strong Resistance and are returned to the ward's center instead of being pushed away.
5. Stop using other items or attacking until you are finished—the ward ends when you use another item, hit an entity, or move away from its center.

Overview

Simple Domain creates a soul-forged sculk ward around you. It is designed for holding a position against attacks and knockback rather than moving around.

The ward:

• Centers on your exact location when activated.
• Displays a ring of sculk soul particles around the center.
• Grants strong Resistance while you remain in place.
• Returns you to the center when damage would knock you back.
• Ends if you move, change dimensions, use another item, or attack an entity.
• Has a two-minute cooldown after each use.

The item does not stack, so keep it in its own inventory slot.

What It Adds

Simple Domain

Simple Domain is a hand-held item found in the equipment category. Use it to create the ward at your current position.

The visible particle ring is approximately 3 blocks from the center. The ring is a marker for the ward's position; it does not follow you.

How To Use

Activate the ward

Select Simple Domain and use it. The ward immediately records your current position and begins protecting you there.

Remain almost perfectly still after activation. Even small movement away from the starting point ends the ward. Walking, jumping, or being moved out of position can therefore deactivate it unless the movement is caused by an attack's knockback.

Resist knockback

When you are hurt while the ward is active, you are teleported back to the recorded center. This prevents attacks from pushing you away from your position.

The protection is personal: the ward does not anchor nearby players or mobs.

End the ward

The ward ends when you:

• Move from the activation point.
• Use any item other than Simple Domain.
• Successfully hit an entity with a melee attack.
• Change dimensions or become unavailable.

Using Simple Domain again can toggle the ward when the item is available, but using it starts its cooldown. During the cooldown, it cannot be activated or toggled and instead displays the remaining time on your action bar.

Abilities And Mechanics

Resistance

While active, the ward continuously grants Resistance X. The effect is refreshed as long as you remain at the center.

The ward removes other status effects from you while it is active. This includes beneficial effects and harmful effects; Resistance from the ward is the only effect it maintains.

Position lock

The ward records your location when you activate it and does not move with you. If your position changes for any reason other than the ward's knockback protection, the ward ends.

Sculk soul ring

A ring of sculk soul particles appears around the recorded center. It provides a clear visual boundary for the active domain.

Cooldown

Each use starts a 2-minute cooldown. Trying to use the item before the cooldown expires shows the remaining time, such as 1m 30s, on the action bar.

Crafting And Obtaining

At a crafting table, combine:

• Amethyst Shards
• Shields
• A Book

The recipe uses amethyst shards in the corners and center edges, shields on the remaining edge positions, and a book in the center.

In Creative mode, search for Simple Domain in the equipment category.

Progression And Strategy

• Activate the ward before an enemy reaches you so the center is in a safe position.
• Use it in doorways, arenas, bridges, or other locations where being pushed back is dangerous.
• Avoid switching to food, weapons, blocks, or other items while the ward is active.
• Do not attack while relying on the ward; hitting an entity ends the domain.
• Remember that the ward removes all other status effects, so drink potions or apply buffs after the ward ends.
• Keep the item ready in your hotbar, but expect to wait two minutes between uses.
