Quickstart

• Find a caracal in a savanna biome, or use its spawn egg from the Creative inventory’s Spawn Eggs tab.
• Hold raw chicken and interact with an untamed caracal to try to tame it. Each attempt uses one chicken in Survival and has a one-in-three chance of success, so bring extras.
• A newly tamed caracal becomes yours and sits. Interact with it using an empty hand to toggle sitting.
• Watch out if you keep chickens nearby: caracals hunt them, even after being tamed.

Overview

The Savanna Caracal Pouncer is a nimble feline that naturally appears in savanna biomes, usually in groups of one to three. You can tame it with raw chicken and have it follow you, but it retains its instinct to hunt chickens.

How To Use

• Lure: Hold raw chicken nearby to attract a caracal.
• Tame: Interact with an untamed caracal while holding raw chicken. A failed attempt still consumes the chicken; try again.
• Sit or stand: Interact with your tamed caracal using an empty hand.
• Breed: Feed raw chicken to two eligible tamed caracals.

Abilities And Mechanics

Caracals seek out nearby chickens, pounce, and attack them. Taming one does not stop this behavior, so keep it away from coops if you want to protect your chickens. Tamed caracals can follow their owner and can be told to sit.

Progression And Strategy

Bring a stack of raw chicken when looking for a caracal, since taming may take several attempts. After taming, use sitting to keep it in place, and avoid bringing it near chicken farms.
