Description
Trade rare Phantom’s Eyes with Pale Garden Traders, Jungle Traders, and Desert Traders for a Creaking-crushing lantern.
Mod Wiki
Jungle Trader
Quickstart
- Head into a jungle biome and look for a wandering villager-like NPC — this is a Jungle Trader. Similar traders can be found in desert biomes (Desert Trader) and in Pale Gardens (Pale Garden Trader).
- Drop the item each trader wants near it (see below) and back off a little — the trader will pick it up and leave a reward item on the ground in exchange.
- Keep an eye out for rare Phantom's Eye drops — trading one to a Pale Garden Trader gets you the powerful Creaking Obliterator.
- If you can't find traders naturally, spawn eggs are available in Creative inventory for all three trader types.
Overview
This mod adds three peaceful, villager-like trader mobs scattered across the world: the Jungle Trader, the Desert Trader, and the Pale Garden Trader. Each one wanders its home biome and will exchange specific items you drop nearby for useful rewards, much like bartering with a piglin. Collect the right currency, approach a trader, and see what they give back.
What It Adds
| Entity | Found In | Wants | Gives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jungle Trader | Jungle biomes | Cocoa Beans (regular or Red Cocoa Beans) | Jungle-themed rewards, including a jungle explorer map |
| Desert Trader | Desert biomes | Gold Nuggets | Trade rewards; accepting a Husk's Gold Heart from the right Desert Trader gives a special reward |
| Pale Garden Trader | Pale Garden biomes | Raw Chicken (2 or more), or a Phantom's Eye | Torches, Lanterns, Campfires, worn Bows with Arrows, or the Creaking Obliterator (for a Phantom's Eye) |
Other notable items added:
- Red Cocoa Beans – a special variant of cocoa beans favored by Jungle Traders.
- Husk's Gold Heart – a rare item some Desert Traders will exchange for a big reward.
- Phantom's Eye – a rare trade item used to obtain the Creaking Obliterator.
- Creaking Obliterator – a combat item that instantly destroys Creaking mobs when used on them.
How To Use
Trading: Approach a trader and drop the requested item(s) on the ground near it (within a few blocks). The trader will notice, pick up the item, and drop its reward nearby for you to collect. Right-clicking a trader with the correct item can also trigger some trades directly (for example, giving a Husk's Gold Heart to a Desert Trader).
Jungle Trader: Give 3 Cocoa Beans (or Red Cocoa Beans) to receive a jungle-themed reward, including a jungle explorer's map. Giving a Red Cocoa Bean is noted as a special exchange.
Desert Trader: Give Gold Nuggets to trade. Some Desert Traders can also read written notes hinting at the location of nearby desert pyramids. If you happen to have a Husk's Gold Heart, only certain Desert Traders will accept it — try different ones to find the right one, and you'll be rewarded with valuable loot.
Pale Garden Trader: Give 2 or more Raw Chicken for a random reward — torches, lanterns, a campfire, or a used bow with arrows. If you have a Phantom's Eye, trade it directly for the Creaking Obliterator.
Using the Creaking Obliterator: Right-click (use) the item directly on a Creaking mob. It will ignite, glow briefly, and be destroyed in a burst of flame and particle effects. The item takes minor durability damage each use.
Crafting And Obtaining
There are no crafting recipes for these items — everything is obtained by trading with the trader mobs, finding rare drops (such as the Phantom's Eye and Husk's Gold Heart), or through spawn eggs in Creative mode. Spawn eggs let you place any of the three trader types directly into the world for trading or testing.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Trader mobs are passive and wander peacefully; they won't attack players.
- Each trader type looks and behaves like a villager but has its own unique appearance and trade preferences.
- Rewards and trade outcomes have some randomness — for example, Pale Garden Traders may give different reward items each time you trade raw chicken.
- Desert Traders can occasionally point you toward nearby desert pyramid structures via a special written book reward.
- The Creaking Obliterator only works against Creaking mobs; using it on anything else does nothing.
Progression And Strategy
- Stock up on cocoa beans, gold nuggets, and raw chicken while exploring so you're ready to trade whenever you encounter a trader.
- Keep any Phantom's Eyes you find — they're rare, and trading them to a Pale Garden Trader is the only way to obtain the powerful Creaking Obliterator.
- If you're hunting for a Husk's Gold Heart payout, try trading with multiple Desert Traders, since only some of them will accept it.
- Use the Creaking Obliterator to deal with Creaking enemies quickly and safely, avoiding prolonged fights with them.
