Quickstart

1. Collect Leaf Litter from the ground beneath trees.
2. Open your crafting table and fill all 9 slots with Leaf Litter to craft a block of Packed Leaves.
3. Place the block anywhere in the world — it will never decay, no matter where you put it.
4. Need fuel? Drop Packed Leaves into a furnace as a fuel source to smelt items.

Overview

Packed Leaves is a single decorative and functional building block. It looks and sounds like natural foliage but behaves like a stable solid block — it will never disappear due to leaf decay, making it a trustworthy choice for builds that incorporate a natural, leafy aesthetic.

Packed Leaves appears in the Building Blocks creative inventory tab alongside other structural materials.

How To Use

Building

Place Packed Leaves like any other full block. It has a soft grass-like sound, a slight transparency (non-opaque), and low hardness — easy to break and place. Because it never decays, you can use it freely in any structure without needing to keep logs nearby to support it.

Fuel

Put Packed Leaves in the bottom slot of a furnace in place of coal or wood. Each block provides 10,000 ticks of burn time, enough to smelt approximately 50 items per block — making it one of the more efficient fuel sources available from renewable foliage materials.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft Packed Leaves at a crafting table using a full 3×3 grid of Leaf Litter:

Leaf Litter can be found scattered on the ground in forested biomes. Collect enough to fill your crafting grid and you'll have a stack-friendly building block ready to go.

Abilities And Mechanics

• No decay: Unlike natural leaf blocks, Packed Leaves will never disappear regardless of proximity to logs or other blocks.
• Solid placement: Behaves as a full block and can be placed anywhere a normal block can.
• Axe-mineable: Break it most efficiently with an axe.
• Furnace fuel: Burns for 10,000 ticks (~500 seconds), smelting around 50 items per block.
• Stacks to 64: Easy to carry and store in bulk.

Progression And Strategy

Leaf Litter is a renewable, easy-to-collect material, making Packed Leaves a scalable fuel option for mid-game smelting operations. If you have a large forest nearby, gathering Leaf Litter and compressing it into Packed Leaves blocks can keep your furnaces running without spending coal or charcoal. For builders, it offers a permanent leafy texture that works well in forest cabins, tree houses, hedge mazes, or any nature-themed build where you need greenery that won't vanish over time.
