Overview
Black Hole Apocalypse gives you a single, extremely powerful item that spawns a living, ever-expanding black hole into the world. Once summoned, the black hole acts on its own — rotating, rumbling, glowing, and relentlessly pulling in everything nearby. It never stops growing on its own, so it's meant to be used deliberately and cleaned up when you're done with it.
What It Adds
- Black Hole Apocalypse item — a glowing, tooltip-rich tool that spawns and despawns black holes.
- Black Hole entity — a visible singularity with a dark event horizon, a swirling accretion disk, and an outer glow, all of which rotate and pulse over time.
- Rumbling ambient sound that plays periodically near any active black hole.
How To Use
- Right-click with the item in hand to spawn a new black hole about 10 blocks in front of where you're looking.
- Sneak + right-click to despawn every black hole currently active in the world (within a very large range), useful for cleaning up after experimenting.
- The item has a short cooldown after each use (about 5 seconds), so you can't spam-spawn or spam-clear black holes.
- Once spawned, a black hole needs no further input — it will grow, pull in nearby entities and items, and optionally destroy nearby blocks on its own.
- In-game chat messages confirm when a black hole spawns and how many were removed when you clear them.
Crafting And Obtaining
The item is crafted from a mix of powerful vanilla materials, reflecting how dangerous the result is:
It is also flagged as a creative-mode item, so it can be found directly in the Creative inventory in addition to being craftable.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Endless growth: Every black hole continuously expands over time with no upper limit — the longer it exists, the bigger and more dangerous it becomes.
- Gravitational pull: Entities (players, mobs, items) within a large range are pulled toward the black hole and consumed if they reach its event horizon.
- Block destruction: Black holes gradually chew through terrain around them as their destruction radius expands to match their size.
- Black hole rivalry: If multiple black holes exist near each other, the larger one will absorb the smaller one nearby, growing even stronger in the process. Equal-sized holes resolve the contest consistently so they don't endlessly fight over who consumes whom.
- Cinematic effects: Active black holes distort the view and play deep rumbling sounds, giving a sense of dread and scale as they grow.
- Visuals: Each black hole renders a dark spherical core, a rotating, color-shifting accretion disk, and a soft outer glow that all animate as the black hole ages.
Progression And Strategy
Because black holes grow without limit and can destroy terrain, treat every summon as a serious commitment — use them in open or expendable areas, and don't leave them unattended for too long. If a situation gets out of hand, sneak + right-click immediately clears the board by removing every black hole in the world. Spawning a second black hole near an existing one lets the bigger one absorb the smaller one, so you can consolidate multiple singularities into one dominant hole if you want to concentrate the destruction in a single spot.
