Throw black holes that fuse into a growing orange tornado — visible only from its eye — spinning, devouring blocks.

Mod Wiki

Galaxy's Blackhole

Quickstart

  1. Craft the Supermassive Black Hole Scope using the recipe below.
  2. Hold the item and right-click and hold to start charging — a galaxy-themed scope overlay will appear on your screen.
  3. Charge for at least 1 second (up to about 3 seconds for max power), then release right-click to launch a black hole projectile.
  4. Watch it fly forward, land, and begin pulling in nearby blocks, mobs, and projectiles.
  5. Throw more black holes near an existing one — they will fuse together and grow into a massive spinning orange storm.

Overview

The Supermassive Black Hole Scope is a crossbow-like weapon that fires miniature black holes instead of arrows. Each black hole is a living, growing hazard: it drifts through the world pulling in loose blocks, entities, and even arrows, slowly gaining mass. When multiple black holes merge, they fuse into a colossal, roaring vortex — a churning orange tornado of fire and smoke that towers into the sky, its true "eye" barely visible through the swirling storm wall around it.

What It Adds

  • Supermassive Black Hole Scope — a single held item that fires black hole projectiles.
  • Black Hole entity — a projectile that grows, pulls in nearby objects, and eventually fuses with other black holes into a giant vortex.
  • A custom charging scope overlay that appears on screen while aiming.

How To Use

  • Right-click and hold to start charging the black hole. A galaxy-scope crosshair overlay appears while you charge, complete with orbiting star-like particles.
  • Release right-click after charging for at least 1 second to launch the black hole. Charging longer (up to ~3 seconds) launches it with more velocity.
  • Each shot has a short cooldown before you can fire again, and firing costs a small amount of durability unless you're in Creative mode.
  • Thrown black holes are affected by gravity-defying drift — they float rather than fall, orbiting and consuming any loose falling blocks nearby.
  • Once a black hole lands, it will:
    • Pull in nearby entities and loose blocks.
    • Capture arrows and other projectiles that get close, briefly holding them in orbit.
    • Grow in size and "mass" the longer it survives and the more it consumes.
  • If two or more black holes get close to each other, they fuse into a single supermassive black hole. A fused black hole becomes a towering, mostly orange storm — best identified by its glowing central "eye," since the rest of the storm is wrapped in dense flame, smoke, and lava-like particle effects that obscure its true shape.
  • Black holes are temporary: after about 5 minutes of existence, a black hole releases anything it had captured (including trapped projectiles) and then disappears.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Supermassive Black Hole Scope using the following recipe:

minecraft:blaze_rod
minecraft:echo_shard
minecraft:blaze_rod
minecraft:end_crystal
minecraft:nether_star
minecraft:end_crystal
minecraft:amethyst_shard
minecraft:totem_of_undying
minecraft:amethyst_shard
Arrow
galaxy-scope-blackhole-crossbow-djcbuulo:galaxy_scope_blackhole_crossbow_djcbuulo

The recipe combines nether-themed and end-themed materials — blaze rods, echo shards, end crystals, a nether star, amethyst shards, and totems of undying — reflecting the item's cosmic, high-tier theme.

The item has limited durability and slowly wears down with use (unless in Creative mode), so plan on repairing or crafting spares for extended play.

Abilities And Mechanics

  • Charge-and-release firing: similar to a bow or crossbow, hold to charge and release to fire.
  • Scope overlay: while charging, your view darkens at the edges and a stylized cosmic crosshair with orbiting particles appears, helping you aim.
  • Growth and mass: black holes accumulate "mass" from consumed blocks and entities, increasing their size and pull strength over time.
  • Projectile capture and release: arrows and other projectiles that get too close are pulled into orbit around the black hole and are released again once it expires.
  • Fusion into a supermassive storm: multiple black holes merging together escalate into a much larger, more dramatic tornado-like vortex, dominated by flame, lava, and thick smoke effects, with its glowing eye as the only clear visual landmark.
  • Temporary lifespan: every black hole — fused or not — disappears after roughly 5 minutes, releasing anything it was holding.

Progression And Strategy

  • Use single black holes for quick area control — sucking in loose blocks, mobs, or incoming projectiles.
  • Deliberately land multiple black holes near each other to trigger fusion and create a supermassive vortex for a much larger, more chaotic effect.
  • Because captured projectiles are held and later released, be cautious around black holes in combat — arrows fired into one may return unexpectedly once it expires.
  • Manage your charge time to control launch distance and power: short charges for close-range placement, longer charges for reaching distant targets.
  • Watch your durability bar, since repeated firing gradually damages the scope outside of Creative mode.
