Sprint Flight Modes
Quickstart
Sprint Flight Modes works automatically in Creative mode — no crafting or setup required.
- Enter Creative mode and take to the air (double-tap Jump).
- Fly horizontally and press Sprint — a speed multiplier overlay appears on screen and your flight speed jumps up. Press Sprint again to cycle through higher multipliers.
- To boost vertical flight, hold Space (ascend) or Shift (descend) and press Sprint while moving vertically. Your vertical boost latches on automatically so you keep rising or falling at full speed even after releasing Sprint.
- Release Space or Shift to drop back to normal flight walk speed and clear the vertical latch.
- On the ground in Creative, simply sprint normally and then press Sprint again to cycle your ground-sprint multiplier.
- Middle-click (Pick Block) at any time to toggle Sprint Speed Memory, which remembers your last chosen speed between boosts.
Overview
Sprint Flight Modes enhances Creative mode movement by layering adjustable speed multipliers on top of Minecraft's default flight and ground sprint. You can move at 1×, 2×, 4×, 8×, or 16× normal speed in any direction without affecting base game movement for other modes. An on-screen overlay always shows your current multiplier, and smooth transitions prevent jarring speed changes.
What It Adds
| Feature | Description |
|---|
| Horizontal Flight Sprint Modes | Cycle through 5 speed tiers (1×–16×) while flying horizontally |
| Vertical Flight Sprint Modes | Separate speed cycle applied when ascending or descending |
| Creative Ground Sprint Modes | Speed tiers applied while sprinting on the ground in Creative |
| Sprint Speed Memory | Remembers your last chosen multiplier across boosts/landings |
| Vertical Sprint Latch | Boost holds for an entire ascent/descent movement even if Sprint is released |
| On-Screen Overlay | Displays the active multiplier so you always know your current speed |
| Smooth Transitions | Clamped residual boosts and locked horizontal motion prevent speed bleed |
How To Use
Horizontal Flight Boosting
- While flying and moving horizontally, press Sprint to cycle to the next speed tier.
- Each press steps through: 1× → 2× → 4× → 8× → 16×, then wraps back.
- Releasing Sprint (or stopping flight) resets the multiplier to 1× unless Sprint Speed Memory is on.
Vertical Flight Boosting
- Hold Space to ascend or Shift to descend.
- Press Sprint while actively ascending or descending to cycle the vertical speed multiplier and latch the boost.
- The boost latches — you can release the Sprint key and still continue ascending or descending at the boosted speed.
- The latch clears automatically when you release Space or Shift. At that point, directional (horizontal) flight returns to normal walk speed so boosted vertical speed does not carry over.
Ground Boosting (Creative)
- Sprint on the ground normally first (hold Sprint to begin running).
- While already sprinting, press Sprint to cycle through ground speed tiers.
- Horizontal motion is locked during a ground boost to keep movement clean.
Sprint Speed Memory
- Middle-click (Pick Block key) to toggle Sprint Speed Memory on or off. A message confirms the toggle.
- When on, your last chosen multiplier is remembered when you stop boosting, land, or stop flying — your speed tier picks up where you left off next time.
- When off, multipliers reset to 1× whenever a boost ends.
Abilities And Mechanics
Speed Tiers
All three boost modes share the same five multiplier steps:
| Step | Multiplier |
|---|
| 1 | 1× (default) |
| 2 | 2× |
| 3 | 4× |
| 4 | 8× |
| 5 | 16× |
Vertical Sprint Latch Detail
Pressing Sprint while Space or Shift is held starts the vertical latch. The boost continues for that entire ascent or descent even after releasing Sprint. The latch is cleared — and speed returned to normal — only when you release the vertical key (Space or Shift). This prevents boosted vertical momentum from bleeding into horizontal flight.
Boost Suppression
After a vertical boost ends (you release Space or Shift), the mod suppresses flight sprint until you press Sprint fresh again. This ensures a clean separation between vertical and horizontal boost states.
On-Screen Overlay
A small multiplier indicator appears on-screen whenever a boost is active, letting you quickly confirm your current speed tier without guessing.
Progression And Strategy
- Exploration: Use 8× or 16× horizontal flight to survey large biomes quickly, then drop to 1× or 2× for precise building.
- Vertical traversal: Latch a 16× vertical boost to rocket to build height or down to ground level instantly — release the key and you stop boosting without any sideways drift.
- Ground travel: Use Creative ground sprint modes to race across flat terrain without switching to flight.
- Sprint Speed Memory: Turn Memory on when you want to maintain a consistent fast cruising speed session-wide; turn it off when you prefer manually dialing in speed each time you take off.
