Ninja Way

Quickstart

When you first join a world with Ninja Way installed, you will receive a personal welcome message directing you to use /Guide for help. Run that command immediately — it opens the in-game guide covering jutsu, commands, Sage Mode, sealing mechanics, Eight Gates EXP rules, and testing-dummy usage.

Get started in five steps:

1. Learn your identity. You are automatically assigned a clan (e.g., Uchiha, Uzumaki, Hyuga) and a primary chakra nature on first spawn.
2. Fight hostile mobs to earn NinjaXP (1–2 per hit; Otsutsuki clan earns 10–20). Every time you charge chakra you also gain 2 NinjaXP.
3. Collect Jutsu Scrolls from any structure chest (≈40% chance) and right-click them to learn jutsu.
4. Assign keybinds in Controls under the Ninja Way category, then press Z to cast the selected jutsu, V (hold) to charge chakra, and Y (hold, standing still) to charge Sage Mode.
5. Run /Guide Commands to read what every ninja command does.

Overview

Ninja Way turns Minecraft into a Naruto-inspired ninja RPG. Every player has a clan, one or more chakra natures, and optional Kekkei Genkai. You earn NinjaXP and chakra through combat and training, unlock jutsu from scrolls or progression trees, and cast them through a cycling jutsu menu or direct hotkeys. The mod adds boss encounters, summonable NPCs, sealing rituals, Tailed Beast Jinchuriki mechanics, and a full Eight Gates taijutsu path.

How To Use

Keybinds (Controls → Ninja Way)

Jutsu Menu Flow

Your jutsu are grouped by chakra nature, Kekkei Genkai, Misc, Jinchuriki, and Sage Mode tabs. Toggle between them with the category key, then cycle through individual jutsu within the active tab. The HUD shows your selected jutsu name at the bottom-left of the screen.

Chakra

Hold V to charge chakra over time. Running out prevents casting jutsu. Each charge session also contributes NinjaXP.

Sage Mode

Stand completely still, then hold Y. After a meditation period your Sage Chakra builds. Once in Sage Mode, your Sage-exclusive jutsu become available under the Sage tab.

Crafting And Obtaining

Taijutsu Learner (Eight Gates Unlock Item)

Craft the Taijutsu Learner, then use or craft it while you have at least 2,500 NinjaXP. It permanently unlocks the Eight Gates Kekkei Genkai.

Villager Trades

• Master Cartographer (level 4) — sells a Tailed Beast Map for 24 Emeralds + 1 Compass.

Jiraya Trade (NPC)

Right-click Jiraya while carrying 64 Emeralds and 64 Paper to receive a Sage Scroll.

Abilities And Mechanics

DNA Items

• Chakra Nature DNA — Right-click to add an additional chakra nature to your character.
• Kekkei Genkai DNA — Right-click to add an additional Kekkei Genkai.

Jutsu Scrolls & Sage Scrolls

• Jutsu Scroll — Right-click to learn one of the cross-nature jutsu (Healing Palms, Body Flicker, Rasengan, Four Symbol Sealing, etc.).
• Sage Scroll — Right-click to learn a Sage Mode (Toad, Snake, Slug, or the rare Hashirama Sage Mode). Purchase from Jiraya.

Sharingan & Dōjutsu Progression

1. Sharingan (item) — Drop one onto a 3×3 Diamond Block platform to summon the Itachi boss. Defeat Itachi to receive a Mangekyō Sharingan with a random variant (Madara's, Sasuke's, Itachi's, or Obito's).
2. Mangekyō Sharingan variants unlock different jutsu trees:
   • Madara's → Tengai Shinsei, Time Control, Susano'o
   • Itachi's → Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susano'o
   • Sasuke's → Amaterasu, Susano'o, Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi/Honoikazuchi
   • Obito's → Kamui
3. Combine two Mangekyō eyes to obtain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, which merges both jutsu sets.
4. Continue to the Rinnegan through further progression.
5. The Rinne-Sharingan (Ten-Tails Jinchuriki tier) unlocks Infinite Tsukuyomi, Amenominaka, and Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack.

Byakugan & Tenseigan

• Hyuga clan or Byakugan Kekkei Genkai gives the Byakugan jutsu set.
• Summon Hinata Hyuga (boss) by building a 3×3 platform with Diamond Block in the center and Quartz Blocks surrounding it, then right-clicking. Defeating Hinata drops the Pure Byakugan item.
• Use the Pure Byakugan while having the Byakugan to evolve it into the Tenseigan, unlocking Tenseigan Chakra Mode and Reincarnation Explosion jutsu.

Sage Mode

Learn via a Sage Scroll, then charge Sage Mode by holding Y while still. Each Sage Mode provides unique jutsu:

Summoning NPCs

Tailed Beast Map

Use a Tailed Beast Map to locate the coordinates of a wild Tailed Beast in the world. Nine individual beasts exist (Shukaku through Kurama).

Sealing Tailed Beasts & Gedo Statue

1. Learn Four Symbol Sealing Jutsu from a Jutsu Scroll.
2. Select it as your active jutsu, then right-click a Tailed Beast to begin sealing.
3. Successfully sealed beasts are recorded in the Gedo Statue. Sneak-right-click the Gedo Statue to see how many have been sealed.
4. Once all 9 Tailed Beasts are sealed inside the Gedo Statue, sneak-right-click it again to start the Ten-Tails summoning sequence and gain Ten-Tails Jinchuriki powers.

Ten-Tails Jinchuriki

Defeating the Ten-Tails / completing the Gedo Statue ritual grants the Rinne-Sharingan tier and access to:

• Truth-Seeking Orbs (Shoot / Shield / Sword of Nunoboko)
• Summoning: God Tree
• Expanding Truth-Seeking Orb
• Yomotsu Hirasaka
• Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack
• Amenominaka
• Infinite Tsukuyomi
• Ten-Tails Coffin Seal

The Sword of Nunoboko also becomes accessible as a physical weapon. Use /ninja MS_give to receive a Mangekyō Sharingan for testing.

Zetsu & Zetsu Flesh

Zetsu are hostile mobs that spawn in the world. They drop Zetsu Flesh. Zetsu Spawn Eggs are available for creative summoning.

True Damage

Some high-tier jutsu (Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack, Sword of Nunoboko attacks, and others) deal true damage — bypassing armor, enchantments, effects, and shields.

Earth Golem

Summoned via Earth Release: Golem Technique. The golem follows its owner, teleports back if it wanders too far (>30 blocks), targets nearby hostile mobs, and has 200 HP / 30 attack damage.

Party Scroll

Use the Party Scroll to create or join a party with other players. Party members will not be targeted by your jutsu.

Testing Dummy

Spawn a Testing Dummy to safely practice jutsu without hunting mobs. See /Guide Commands for the testing-dummy command.

Progression And Strategy

Early Game

• Punch hostile mobs to build NinjaXP and chakra. Any nature jutsu scroll helps immediately.
• Prioritize finding Jutsu Scrolls in village, dungeon, and mineshaft chests.
• Pick up Chakra Nature DNA to expand your jutsu pool.
• Spend NinjaXP on body upgrades to increase your health pool; each upgrade adds bonus hearts (up to 500 total hearts).

Mid Game

• Reach 2,500 NinjaXP, craft a Taijutsu Learner, and unlock the Eight Gates. Gates open as you accumulate Eight Gates XP through use, progressing from Gate of Opening (0 EG-XP) up to Gate of Death (10,000 EG-XP) for Night Guy and Daytime Tiger.
• Seek out Kekkei Genkai DNA or defeat special bosses to gain elemental combinations (Lava, Storm, Ice, etc.).
• Trade with a Master Cartographer for a Tailed Beast Map and begin hunting Tailed Beasts to seal them.

Late Game

• Obtain a Sharingan from rare structure chests, summon and defeat Itachi to gain a Mangekyō variant, then work toward the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and eventually the Rinnegan.
• Evolve the Byakugan into the Tenseigan via the Hinata encounter and the Pure Byakugan item.
• Meditate into a Sage Mode (trade with Jiraya for a Sage Scroll) for a powerful secondary jutsu set and a second chakra pool.
• Seal all 9 Tailed Beasts using the Gedo Statue to trigger the Ten-Tails ritual and unlock Jinchuriki powers including the Rinne-Sharingan tier.

Tips

• Use a Testing Dummy (see /Guide Commands) to measure jutsu damage and practice combos safely.
• Eight Gates drain health at higher gates — use Gate of Healing to regenerate before pushing further.
• Susano'o costs chakra every second it is active; keep your chakra pool topped off before large fights.
• Planetary Devastation costs 40,000 chakra — save it for the biggest encounters.
• /Guide Commands lists every /ninja command and sub-command available in the mod.
