Mod Wiki
Necromancer Scythe
Quickstart
- Craft the Necromancer Scythe using the recipe below.
- Equip it in your hand and attack mobs — landing a killing blow harvests a soul.
- Once you've collected at least 3 souls, use the scythe (right-click / trigger item use) to summon an undead minion that fights for you.
- Keep farming souls to summon more minions whenever you need backup.

Overview
The Necromancer Scythe is a dark, soul-infused weapon that lets you harvest the souls of slain mobs and spend them to summon loyal undead minions. It fights like a sword in combat, but its true power comes from the souls it collects with every kill.
What It Adds
- Necromancer Scythe — a rare, glinting weapon that deals solid melee damage and can be enchanted like a sword.
- Soul Harvesting — automatically collects souls from mobs you kill with the scythe.
- Soul Summoning — spend stored souls to summon a minion that serves you.
How To Use
- Attack with the scythe to fight enemies. Whenever a hit lands the killing blow on a mob, you automatically harvest a soul from it, marked with a soul particle effect and a chat message showing your current soul count.
- Use the scythe (activate/right-click) to summon a minion in front of you, in the direction you're facing. This costs 3 stored souls. If you don't have enough, you'll be told how many you need.
- Summoned minions spawn as loyal creatures tagged as your minion and named after you (e.g. "YourName's Minion"). They appear near you and can help fight on your behalf.
- Your soul count persists with you as a player, so you can harvest souls over time and summon minions whenever you're ready — no need to spend them immediately.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Necromancer Scythe at a crafting table using netherite scrap, bone, and sticks. See the recipe below for the exact pattern.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Damage: Deals solid melee damage per hit, comparable to a strong sword.
- Durability: The scythe has limited durability and can break with repeated use, though damage isn't guaranteed on every hit.
- Repairing: Restore durability by repairing the scythe with bones — each bone used in repair restores a portion of its maximum durability.
- Enchanting: The scythe can be enchanted at an enchanting table like a sword, allowing you to boost it with combat enchantments.
- Soul Harvesting: Every kill made with the scythe grants 1 soul, tracked per player and stored permanently until spent.
- Soul Summoning: Spending 3 souls summons one minion. Minions spawn slightly ahead of you based on where you're looking, appear with soul particles, and carry your name as their owner tag.
Progression And Strategy
- Focus on getting kills with the scythe rather than other weapons, since only kills made with it harvest souls.
- Save up souls before big fights or exploration trips so you can summon minions as backup when you need them most.
- Keep bones on hand both for repairing the scythe and for future soul-harvesting kills, since bones are the scythe's only repair material.
- Consider enchanting the scythe for extra combat power, since it can hold enchantments just like a sword, making soul harvesting even faster.
