Ironstorm Minigun

Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, open the Combat tab and take an Ironstorm Minigun and some Ironstorm Bullets.
2. Place the minigun in your hotbar and keep the bullets anywhere in your inventory.
3. Hold the use key while aiming at a target. The minigun fires automatically at a very high rate.
4. Release the use key to stop firing. Firing also stops when you run out of bullets or the minigun breaks.
5. Collect fired projectiles after they land to recover Ironstorm Bullets. The gun itself is never dropped as ammunition.

In Survival mode, craft the ammunition and minigun using the recipes below.

Overview

The Ironstorm Minigun is a rapidly firing ranged weapon. It uses Ironstorm Bullets as ammunition and fires arrow-like projectiles that deal 6 damage each.

The weapon:

• Fires approximately 51 projectiles per second.
• Consumes one Ironstorm Bullet per shot in Survival mode.
• Has 1,200 durability.
• Stacks to one item.
• Automatically searches your inventory for ammunition.
• Produces an arrow-shot sound while firing.

What It Adds

Ironstorm Minigun

A powerful automatic weapon designed for sustained fire. Its projectiles have noticeable spread, so it is most effective at close to medium range or against groups of enemies.

Ironstorm Bullet

Ironstorm Bullets are the minigun's ammunition. They stack to 64 and can be recovered from fired projectiles after they land.

How To Use

Equip the Ironstorm Minigun in either hand and hold the use key.

• The minigun begins firing as soon as use starts, provided you have ammunition.
• You do not need to manually reload.
• Bullets can be anywhere in your inventory; they do not need to be in your hotbar.
• Releasing the use key stops the weapon.
• Firing stops automatically when no Ironstorm Bullets remain.
• Each shot reduces the minigun's durability by one in Survival mode.

The weapon fires projectiles with moderate inaccuracy. Aim slightly ahead of moving targets and use shorter bursts when precision matters.

Crafting And Obtaining

Ironstorm Bullets

An iron nugget and gunpowder produce eight Ironstorm Bullets.

Ironstorm Minigun

One crafting route uses iron ingots, redstone, and a dispenser.

A second Ironstorm Minigun recipe entry uses an iron block, iron ingots, iron bars, and redstone.

Both the minigun and its ammunition are also available in the Combat tab of the Creative inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

Rapid Fire

The minigun fires 513 shots every 200 game ticks, or approximately 51 shots per second. Continuous firing can empty a full-durability weapon in roughly 23 seconds.

Recoverable Ammunition

Fired projectiles retain Ironstorm Bullet ammunition for pickup. When a projectile can be collected after landing, it returns an Ironstorm Bullet, not an Ironstorm Minigun.

This allows you to recover ammunition from missed shots, provided the projectile lands somewhere accessible.

Creative Mode

In Creative mode:

• Ironstorm Bullets are not consumed.
• The minigun does not lose durability.
• You still need to begin using the weapon while holding it.

Enchantments

The minigun is categorized as both a durability-enchantable and ranged-enchantable item. Applicable enchantments can be checked through the available enchanting options.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft ammunition in bulk: each craft produces eight bullets.
• Carry extra bullets for extended fights, even though the weapon searches your whole inventory.
• Use sustained fire against groups and tougher targets.
• Use controlled bursts at longer distances because the projectile spread makes individual shots less precise.
• Fight over open or recoverable terrain when conserving ammunition, so fired bullets are easier to collect.
• Watch the minigun's durability bar during long firing sessions; Survival-mode firing uses one durability per shot.
