Iron Phantom Chestplate

Quickstart

Craft the chestplate, equip it in your chest slot, and let it protect you from a fatal hit. It activates automatically—there is no button or special interaction.

On activation, it leaves a phantom double behind, makes you invisible, and grants survival effects. The chestplate is removed from your chest slot and returned to your inventory, so re-equip it after use if you want it ready again.

Overview

The Iron Phantom Chestplate is an iron chestplate with an automatic, totem-like rescue effect. It can save you from a hit that would otherwise kill you, but it has a one-minute cooldown and loses durability when it activates.

What It Adds

• Iron Phantom Chestplate: Wear it in the chest slot to enable its rescue effect.
• Phantom double: A brief, stationary copy of you and your equipment appears where you were when the chestplate activates.

How To Use

Wear the chestplate before entering danger. When a hit would be fatal and the chestplate is not on cooldown, it activates automatically. It cannot save you while it is in your inventory or if its cooldown is active.

After it activates, check your inventory and put the chestplate back on when you are ready. If your inventory is full, the chestplate drops instead.

Abilities And Mechanics

On a fatal hit, the chestplate:

• Keeps you alive at half a heart and grants Regeneration II for 45 seconds.
• Grants Absorption II—four yellow hearts—for 5 seconds, and Fire Resistance for 40 seconds.
• Makes you invisible for 5 seconds.
• Leaves an invulnerable phantom double behind for 5 seconds. The mob that dealt the hit may target the double instead.
• Uses half of its remaining durability, rounded down, and starts a one-minute cooldown.
• Unequips itself into your inventory, or drops if your inventory is full.

Progression And Strategy

Treat the chestplate as a one-use-at-a-time safety net, not protection from every dangerous situation. Keep it equipped when you expect trouble, and remember to re-equip it after it saves you. Its brief invisibility and the double’s distraction can create an opening to retreat, but the chestplate’s cooldown means you should still avoid taking unnecessary risks.
