    Description:

Physics-lite adds lightweight, realistic physics to Minecraft so the world reacts more naturally: trees can collapse into falling, tumbling logs that push outward and loosen canopy leaves, granular blocks (sand, gravel, concrete powder) cascade and slide in avalanches, and pressurized water pockets seek escape routes and can break weak materials like dirt, mud, clay, sand, gravel, farmland, snow, and torches. It also adds boiling water behavior—water within two blocks of a heat source emits bubbling/steam particles and, if kept heated for 60 seconds, will slowly lose levels until it evaporates—and a ragdoll mode you can toggle with R or /physicslite ragdoll for fully physical player movement. Use /physicslite status to inspect systems and the new /physicsliteextras command to view and control extras: toggle boiling with /physicsliteextras boil true or /physicsliteextras boil false (turning it off clears active boiling states), and enable closed-room oxygen loss with /physicsliteextras oxygen true or disable it with /physicsliteextras oxygen false; when oxygen loss is enabled, players in completely sealed rooms with no open-air path will suffocate and take drowning damage. To survive sealed environments you can craft and place the new Air Pump block, which supplies oxygen to a sealed room only when it can pull air from an adjacent open-air space—if the pump’s other side is also sealed it will not prevent drowning, so planning ventilation and pumps becomes a new part of gameplay and progression.

    Mod Wiki

    Physics Lite Extras

    Quickstart

    1. Load into a world with the mod installed. Physics affects the world immediately — chop a tree and watch logs tumble, or let sand cascade down a slope.
    2. Press R at any time to toggle Ragdoll Mode and experience fully physical player movement.
    3. To explore oxygen mechanics, run /physicsliteextras oxygen true. Seal yourself inside a fully enclosed room with no open-air path and you will begin to suffocate.
    4. Craft an Air Pump (iron ingots + redstone + furnace, see below) and place it in a wall so one side faces open air — this will supply the sealed room with oxygen.
    5. To see boiling water in action, run /physicsliteextras boil true, then place water within two blocks of a heat source (e.g. a furnace or lava) and watch the bubbling particles appear.

    Overview

Physics Lite Extras brings lightweight, reactive physics to Minecraft so the world feels alive. Trees topple into rolling logs, granular blocks avalanche down slopes, and water behaves with pressure. On top of these environmental systems, the mod adds boiling water, a ragdoll player mode, and an oxygen/suffocation system for sealed rooms — all controllable via in-game commands.

    What It Adds

    FeatureSummary
Tree PhysicsFelled trees collapse into falling logs that tumble outward and knock loose canopy leaves.
Granular AvalanchesSand, gravel, and concrete powder cascade and slide realistically.
Pressurized WaterWater pockets seek escape routes and can break weak materials: dirt, mud, clay, sand, gravel, farmland, snow, and torches.
Boiling WaterWater near heat sources bubbles and steams; sustained heat for 60 seconds causes it to slowly evaporate.
Ragdoll ModeToggleable fully physical player movement with a spinning camera effect.
Oxygen LossOptional system: players in completely sealed rooms with no open-air path suffocate and take drowning damage.
Air PumpPlaceable block that supplies oxygen to a sealed room — but only if one side connects to open air.

    How To Use

    Tree & Block Physics

Tree and granular physics trigger automatically. Chop the base of a tree and logs will fall and push outward. Dig beneath sand or gravel on a slope and an avalanche begins. Water in enclosed pockets will seek exits and erode weak blocks in its path.

    Ragdoll Mode

    • Keyboard: Press R (when no menu is open) to toggle ragdoll on and off.
    • Command: /physicslite ragdoll

While ragdoll is active, your movement becomes fully physical and the camera pitches and yaws dynamically based on your speed. Toggle it off to regain normal movement.

    Boiling Water

Enable boiling with /physicsliteextras boil true. Any water block within two blocks of a heat source will emit bubbling and steam particles. If the water stays heated for 60 continuous seconds, it begins losing water levels and eventually evaporates entirely. Disable boiling at any time with /physicsliteextras boil false — this also clears all active boiling states immediately.

    Oxygen Loss & Sealed Rooms

Enable with /physicsliteextras oxygen true. The system checks whether a player has any open-air path from their current position. If the room is completely sealed — no gaps, doors, or open-sky connection — the player will suffocate and take drowning damage. Disable with /physicsliteextras oxygen false.

    Surviving a sealed room:

    • Craft and place an Air Pump in one wall of the sealed space.
    • The pump must have open air on its other (outside) face to function.
    • If both sides of the pump are sealed, it will not supply oxygen — ventilation planning is essential.

    Status & Diagnostics

    • /physicslite status — Inspect the state of all physics systems.
    • /physicsliteextras — View current state of extras (boiling and oxygen).

    Crafting And Obtaining

    Air Pump

The Air Pump is crafted at a crafting table. It is mineable with a pickaxe and drops itself when broken.

    Recipe — Air Pump:

    Iron | Iron | Iron
    Red. | Furnace | Red.
    Iron | Iron | Iron

(Three iron ingots across the top, redstone–furnace–redstone in the middle, three iron ingots across the bottom.)

Place the Air Pump in a wall between a sealed room and the outside. As long as the outer face has an open-air connection, the pump will keep the inner room oxygenated.

    Abilities And Mechanics

    Heat Sources & Boiling

Any block the game considers a heat source (furnaces, lava, campfires, etc.) can trigger boiling in water blocks within a two-block radius. The 60-second timer resets if the water moves out of range before evaporation completes.

    Pressurized Water Breakage

Water under pressure erodes specific block types: dirt, mud, clay, sand, gravel, farmland, snow, and torches. Hard materials (stone, wood, metal) are unaffected. Keep this in mind when building structures adjacent to large water bodies.

    Air Pump Rules

    • Requires one face adjacent to open air (a block with sky or cave-air access).
    • The opposite face supplies oxygen to the enclosed space.
    • If the pump is surrounded on both sides by sealed material it provides no benefit.
    • Multiple pumps can be used to supply larger rooms or add redundancy.

    Progression And Strategy

Early game: Physics triggers naturally from normal play — no setup needed. Be cautious mining under sand or gravel columns, as avalanches can bury you.

Mid game: Boiling water (/physicsliteextras boil true) adds risk near lava and heat sources. Avoid letting important water features sit next to furnaces or lava pools for too long, or they will evaporate.

Late game / advanced builds: Enable oxygen loss (/physicsliteextras oxygen true) for a survival challenge in underground bases or bunkers. Plan your base with Air Pump placements before fully sealing a structure — once sealed with no pump, the room becomes a suffocation trap. Use /physicslite status and /physicsliteextras regularly to monitor system states across your world.
