Description
The Haunted Ender Colossus is a terrifying giant Enderman about two blocks taller than normal with 80 health; immune to water and able to breathe underwater, it constantly teleports during combat, can launch players into the air, inflicts blindness with each strike, and will become aggressive if you look it in the eyes. It spawns from a distinctive haunted-creeper-style egg with dark green to near-black colors and eerie cracked markings in the Overworld at any time, and when slain it drops 4–6 Haunted Ender Pearls used to craft a powerful armor set and sword — wearing the full armor grants continuous night vision, the sword now blinds only mobs (stopping them from seeing or attacking while blinded), and blinded creepers lose their targets and won’t start their fuse or explode until they can see again.
Mod Wiki
Haunted Ender Colossus
Quickstart
- The Haunted Ender Colossus spawns naturally in the Overworld at any light level — keep your eyes open, especially at night.
- Do not stare at it. Looking it in the eyes causes it to turn hostile immediately, just like a regular Enderman.
- Defeat it to collect 4–6 Haunted Ender Pearls.
- Use those pearls to craft the full Haunted Ender armor set and the Haunted Ender Sword at a crafting table.
- Equip all four armor pieces at once to gain permanent Night Vision.
Overview
The Haunted Ender Colossus is a massive, aggressive mob that towers over normal Endermen at nearly five blocks tall. It roams the Overworld day and night, and killing one rewards you with rare crafting materials for a powerful gear set. Beyond being a tough fight, this mob introduces a unique blindness-based combat mechanic that affects both the player (when fighting the colossus) and enemy mobs (when the player uses the Haunted Ender Sword).

Abilities And Mechanics
Haunted Ender Colossus
- 80 Health — significantly tankier than most overworld mobs.
- Enraged by eye contact — looking directly at it (like a standard Enderman) makes it hostile.
- Water immune — takes no damage from water and can breathe underwater; it cannot be kited into rivers or oceans to be finished off.
- Constant teleportation — randomly teleports every few seconds while it has a target, making it difficult to track or corner.
- Launch attack — each successful hit sends the player flying upward and backward, disrupting positioning and potentially causing fall damage.
- Blindness on hit — every strike inflicts about 3 seconds of Blindness on the player, severely limiting vision during the fight.
- Post-attack teleport — immediately teleports away after landing a hit.
Haunted Ender Sword
- Hitting any mob applies Blindness for 5 seconds.
- Blinded mobs immediately lose their target, stop moving, and cannot re-acquire a target until the effect expires — effectively freezing them in combat.
- Creepers receive special treatment: while blinded, a creeper's fuse is fully reset and locked at zero, so it cannot ignite or explode until it can see again.
- The sword's blindness effect only affects mobs, never players.
- Haunted Ender Pearls serve as the sword's repair material.
Full Haunted Ender Armor Set
- Wearing all four pieces simultaneously grants continuous Night Vision, refreshed every few seconds automatically.
- Haunted Ender Pearls serve as the armor's repair material.
Crafting And Obtaining
Getting Haunted Ender Pearls
Defeat the Haunted Ender Colossus. It always drops 4–6 Haunted Ender Pearls on death. You will need 24 pearls for the full armor set plus 2 pearls and 1 stick for the sword — plan to fight the colossus multiple times.
You can also use the Haunted Ender Colossus Spawn Egg (available in Creative mode under the Spawn Eggs tab) to summon one manually.

Progression And Strategy
Fighting the Colossus
- Don't look at it until you're ready to engage — accidental eye contact starts the fight on its terms.
- Bring Feather Falling boots: the launch attack will send you airborne repeatedly and fall damage adds up fast.
- Keep milk buckets handy to remove Blindness after being hit, or prepare to fight nearly blind.
- The colossus teleports frequently, so wide open areas are better than tight spaces. Use the sounds of its teleportation to re-locate it.
- It cannot be driven into water as a strategy — it is completely immune.
Using the Sword
The Haunted Ender Sword turns dangerous mobs into temporarily helpless targets. Hit a mob once to freeze it in place for 5 seconds, then follow up freely. This is especially powerful against:
- Creepers — blind one before it starts hissing and it will never explode; the fuse is held at zero the entire time.
- Packs of hostile mobs — blind one attacker at a time to manage multiple enemies without taking hits from all of them simultaneously.
Recommended Gear Order
- Kill your first colossus → craft the Haunted Ender Sword immediately (only 2 pearls + a stick).
- Use the sword's blindness to make future colossus fights much safer — blind it and freely attack while it can't navigate toward you.
- Farm enough pearls for the full armor set to unlock permanent Night Vision, making nighttime farming trivial.
