Description

A biome three times larger than normal, full of cathedral-like bioluminescent forests, purple-blue treetops, misty cliffs, deeper winding rivers, layered Life blocks and rich ore/blackstone strata hiding massive veins of Life Gem, Sky Sapphire, Sun Ruby and Moon Amethyst; towering hollow 7x7 trees spawn as clustered villager hubs with usable homes, treehouse plazas, hanging Giant Vines and a three-block mossy trunk base. Clustered tree hubs are connected by soft moss and glowing-plank paths lined with recurring lantern posts, while tree homes receive exterior lantern rings and hanging accents to light pathways and gathering areas between villagers. Mine gems and ores to craft decorative weapons (each blade with unique effects) and a full Life Gem armor set, trade with Tree‑Dwelling Villagers, collect Mushroom Pets, encounter passive Bigfoot groups you can breed with Giant Dandelions or Giant Poppies, summon pets or octopi with spawn eggs, and press R to drink from the Crystal Chalice (enchanted chalices convert contained liquids into Regeneration); beware baby mushroom zombies that now spawn naturally as forced-baby, slow but high-damage attackers.

Overview

Giant Trees of Life creates an enormous Overworld biome built around cathedral-like bioluminescent forests. The biome is roughly three times the size of a normal biome, with purple-blue treetops, misty cliffs, deeper winding rivers, and layered underground strata.

Towering hollow trees form the biome’s main landmarks. They appear in clusters as living villager hubs, with usable homes, treehouse gathering plazas, hanging vines, and mossy three-block trunk bases. Soft moss and glowing-plank paths connect the hubs, while repeating lantern posts, exterior lantern rings, and hanging accents illuminate the routes between them.

The biome is both a building destination and a source of rare gems, unusual wildlife, villagers, pets, and dangerous monsters.

What It Adds

Natural blocks and plants

  • Glowing Life Bark — luminous tree material used to make planks.
  • Glowing Life Planks — decorative building blocks and path material.
  • Bioluminescent Life Leaves
  • Soft Mossy Ground
  • Giant Grass
  • Giant Fern
  • Giant Dandelion
  • Giant Poppy
  • Giant Lily Pad
  • Life Water Flower
  • Giant Sugar Cane
  • Giant Vine Curtain
  • Giant Mushroom Stem
  • Giant Mushroom Cap

Glowing Life Bark and Glowing Life Planks work as wood materials. Soft Mossy Ground supports animal spawning, while the giant flowers can be collected and used with Mushroom Pets and Bigfoots.

Gems and ores

Four ores generate through the Life biome’s rich underground layers:

OreGem
Life Gem OreLife Gem
Sky Sapphire OreSky Sapphire
Sun Ruby OreSun Ruby
Moon Amethyst OreMoon Amethyst

All four ores require an iron-tier pickaxe or better. Each ore normally yields one to three gems, and Fortune can improve the yield.

Structures and paths

Look for groups of hollow 7×7 trees. Their interiors contain villager homes and gathering spaces, making them natural places to establish a base or meet Tree Dwelling Villagers. Mossy and glowing-plank paths connect nearby hubs and are lined with lantern posts.

How To Use

Exploring the Life biome

Follow the glowing tree materials, soft moss, and purple-blue canopy to find tree hubs. The large scale of the biome makes paths and lanterns especially useful for navigation.

Climb through the hollow trunks to reach treehouse homes and plazas. The open spaces between the trees provide room for farms, animal pens, and custom buildings while keeping the existing villager settlement intact.

Trading

Tree Dwelling Villagers live in the tree hubs and can be traded with like other villagers. Check several villagers to find useful offers, then use the connected homes and plazas as a convenient trading district.

Spawn eggs

The Creative inventory provides spawn eggs for:

  • Mushroom Pet
  • Bigfoot
  • Mushroom Zombie
  • Hostile Octopus

Use a spawn egg on a suitable location to spawn its creature. Hostile Octopi should be spawned in water.

Crystal Chalice

Craft the Crystal Chalice with glass, Moon Amethyst, and a Life Gem:

Hold the chalice and press R to drink. Enchanting the chalice allows contained liquids to be converted into Regeneration when consumed. The chalice is enchantable for durability.

Crafting And Obtaining

Building materials

One Glowing Life Bark makes four Glowing Life Planks:

The bark and other Life-biome blocks can also be collected directly from the environment. Use an axe for Glowing Life Bark, Glowing Life Planks, Giant Mushroom Stems, and Giant Mushroom Caps. Use a hoe for Soft Mossy Ground and Bioluminescent Life Leaves.

Life Gem armor

The complete armor set is crafted from Life Gems. It includes a Life Gem Crown, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots.

Abilities And Mechanics

Mushroom Pets

Mushroom Pets can be brought into the world with a Mushroom Pet Spawn Egg. They naturally follow nearby villagers, making them a good fit for tree settlements.

Feed a Mushroom Pet a Giant Dandelion or Giant Poppy to produce a baby Mushroom Pet. The flower is consumed outside Creative mode, and breeding has a short cooldown.

Mushroom Pets can drop red or brown mushrooms when killed.

Bigfoot

Bigfoots appear as passive groups in the Life biome. They are strong creatures, so give them plenty of space when building around their gathering areas.

Feed a Bigfoot a Giant Dandelion or Giant Poppy to produce a baby Bigfoot. Breeding has a short cooldown. Bigfoots can drop leather and have a chance to drop a rabbit’s foot when killed by a player.

Bigfoot Spawn Eggs allow you to create a group near a custom base or preserve.

Mushroom Zombies

Mushroom Zombies are permanently baby-sized, slow-moving attackers that can spawn naturally. Their low speed makes them easy to underestimate: they have high health and deal heavy melee damage.

They are immune to fall damage and can drop red or brown mushrooms. Use a Mushroom Zombie Spawn Egg when you want to add a dangerous encounter to a custom area.

Hostile Octopi

Hostile Octopi are aquatic enemies. They search for nearby non-Creative players, pull themselves toward their target through the water, and attack at close range.

Spawn them with a Hostile Octopus Spawn Egg in an underwater build, river, or custom aquarium encounter. Keep them away from peaceful swimming areas unless you want an ambush.

Progression And Strategy

  1. Find a tree hub. The hollow trees provide shelter, villagers, lighting, and established routes.
  2. Harvest Life wood. Convert Glowing Life Bark into Planks for tools, paths, bridges, and buildings.
  3. Secure an iron-tier pickaxe. All four gem ores require at least this mining level.
  4. Mine for Life Gems first. They are used for the Life Gem armor set, the Life Gem Sword, and the Crystal Chalice.
  5. Collect the other gems. Sky Sapphire, Sun Ruby, and Moon Amethyst unlock additional weapons and the chalice.
  6. Build along the existing paths. The lantern-lined routes make useful foundations for a settlement or trading network.
  7. Use Giant Dandelions and Giant Poppies carefully. Keep a supply for breeding both Mushroom Pets and Bigfoots.
  8. Prepare for deep exploration. The biome’s cliffs, rivers, large distances, and underground strata reward bridges, marked paths, spare tools, and reliable lighting.
  9. Reserve the Crystal Chalice for dangerous trips. Once enchanted, its Regeneration effect can provide valuable emergency healing while exploring the Life forests and their caves.
