Mod Wiki

Grand Reach Arsenal

Quickstart

  1. Open the Creative inventory and search for glaive, halberd, pike, or lucerne hammer, or craft a wooden weapon.
  2. Equip one in your main hand.
  3. Left-click a target for a normal attack.
  4. Right-click to use the weapon’s special attack:
    • Glaive: immediately sweeps a broad area in front of you.
    • Halberd: hold right-click, then release after at least half a second to slam the area ahead. Crouch-right-clicking performs the slam immediately.
    • Pike: immediately performs a precise, long-range stab.
    • Lucerne hammer: immediately strips armor from nearby living entities.
  5. Start with , then test each weapon family against groups of mobs and armored targets.

Overview

Grand Reach Arsenal adds four families of large melee weapons:

  • Glaives use wide forward sweeps.
  • Halberds deliver powerful area slams with knockback.
  • Pikes strike a narrow line at exceptional range.
  • Lucerne hammers crush armor with normal attacks and can strip nearby armor with their special attack.

Every family has wooden, stone, iron, golden, diamond, and netherite variants. Weapons are single items and can be crafted at a crafting table or selected from the Creative inventory.

What It Adds

HalberdNormal melee attack with an extra hit bonusArea slam with knockback6 blocks
PikeNormal melee attack with an extra hit bonusNarrow, accurate stab10 blocks
Lucerne hammer10 damage before armorRemoves nearby equipped armor5-block area

The glaive, halberd, and pike use slow, deliberate attacks. Face your targets before activating their specials; the sweep, slam, and stab all use your look direction.

How To Use

Glaives

Right-click with a glaive to perform an immediate sweep.

  • Hits living entities in a broad area in front of you.
  • Works across a 5.6-block horizontal reach.
  • Can affect targets up to roughly 2 blocks above or below you.
  • Deals the glaive’s material-based damage to each target in the sweep.

The sweep is effective against clustered mobs. Turn toward the center of a group before activating it.

Halberds

A halberd’s special attack is a charged slam.

  • Hold right-click and release after at least 10 ticks, or half a second.
  • The slam affects a broad area around the direction you are facing.
  • It reaches 6 blocks horizontally and about 2.5 blocks vertically.
  • Each target takes 20 damage before armor.
  • Targets are knocked back away from the slam.
  • The slam applies a brief 5-tick cooldown.

Crouch-right-clicking skips the charge and performs the slam immediately. Use the charged version when you need to aim carefully, or the crouching version for a quick close-range attack.

Pikes

Right-click with a pike to perform an immediate stab.

  • Reaches up to 10 blocks.
  • Uses a narrow line centered on your crosshair.
  • Can affect targets about 1 block above or below you.
  • Deals the pike’s material-based damage.

Pikes are best for keeping dangerous mobs at a distance. Aim directly at the target rather than sweeping across a group.

Lucerne Hammers

Lucerne hammers are armor-crushing weapons.

Normal attack

Left-clicking a living entity with a lucerne hammer:

  • Deals 10 damage before armor.
  • Has 2 additional blocks of interaction reach.
  • Crushes equipped armor on the target:
    • Leather, golden, chainmail, and iron armor pieces break after one hit.
    • Diamond and netherite armor pieces break after two hits.
    • Each armor slot is handled separately.

Armor-breaking sweep

Right-click to remove every equipped armor piece from each nearby living entity other than yourself.

  • Affects entities within 5 blocks.
  • Removes armor immediately, including diamond and netherite armor.
  • Does not deal damage.
  • Has a 24,000-tick cooldown, equal to 20 minutes.

Use the sweep before fighting heavily armored groups or when you need to expose several armored targets at once.

Crafting And Obtaining

All recipes are shaped crafting recipes made from sticks and a material ingredient. Wooden recipes accept any type of planks.

  • Glaive: 2 material items and 2 sticks.
  • Halberd: 4 material items and 2 sticks.
  • Pike: 1 material item and 2 sticks.
  • Lucerne hammer: 4 material items and 2 sticks.

Abilities And Mechanics

Weapon damage values

The material determines durability and the damage value used by glaive, halberd, and pike attacks.

MaterialGlaiveHalberdPikeDurability
Wooden56359
Stone674131
Iron785250
Golden5.56.53.532
Diamond8961,561
Netherite91072,031

For glaives, halberds, and pikes, a normal left-click attack also applies an additional bonus equal to half the weapon’s listed damage value. Their special attacks use the weapon’s full listed value, except for the halberd slam, which always deals 20 damage.

All weapons are held in the main hand, stack to one, and use a slow attack speed suited to deliberate, high-reach strikes.

Progression And Strategy

  • Begin with a wooden glaive for a reliable area attack using early-game materials.
  • Upgrade to stone and iron for better durability and damage.
  • Golden weapons have the lowest durability, but retain their family’s special attack and can be useful when materials are plentiful.
  • Diamond and netherite weapons provide the best durability and damage values.
  • Choose a glaive for groups in front of you.
  • Choose a halberd when you need a heavy slam and knockback.
  • Choose a pike for precise attacks against distant targets.
  • Choose a lucerne hammer against armored enemies or groups that rely on armor.
  • Carry different weapon families together: the pike can open a fight from range, the glaive can clear clustered enemies, and the halberd can knock back a crowd.
