Crimson Rage Zombie

Quickstart

1. Get the Crimson Rage Zombie Spawn Egg from your Creative inventory (Spawn Eggs tab) and use it on the ground to summon one instantly.
2. In Survival, look for these zombies spawning naturally at night or in dark areas (light level 7 or below) on Normal or Hard difficulty.
3. Fight carefully — they hit harder than a normal zombie and can break down doors to reach you.
4. Kill one and collect its drops, or try mounting a jockey pairing where a smaller zombie rides an adult one.

Overview

The Crimson Rage Zombie is a fiery-red undead variant that stalks the world with the same relentless hostility as a normal zombie, but hits harder and comes with its own unique loot and behavior quirks. It fits right into existing zombie spawns and adds a slightly tougher, more rewarding undead encounter.

What It Adds

• Crimson Rage Zombie — a hostile undead mob with a burning red appearance, found in dark areas underground and on the surface.
• Crimson Rage Zombie Spawn Egg — a red-and-orange spawn egg for summoning this zombie directly in Creative or Survival.
• Baby and adult variants, including zombie "jockeys" where a smaller zombie can mount and ride an adult one.

How To Use

• Spawning: Use the spawn egg on a block to place a Crimson Rage Zombie, or find one naturally spawning in dark areas during Normal or Hard difficulty. They tend to appear in small groups of 1–2.
• Interacting: You can interact with the zombie directly, which may trigger equipment-sharing behavior — it can pick up and wear better gear (like swords) it finds or is given, prioritizing weapons such as netherite or diamond swords.
• Combat: These zombies deal noticeably more damage than a standard zombie and can break down wooden doors, so don't assume you're safe behind a closed door.
• Water and drowning: If a Crimson Rage Zombie stays underwater too long, it will begin transforming — after enough time submerged, it converts into a Drowned, dropping any equipment it was wearing.
• Fire: Like other zombies, it burns in direct daylight, so it prefers shade, night, and dark spaces. It also takes heavy damage if it ends up in lava.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for this mob — you obtain it by:

• Using the Crimson Rage Zombie Spawn Egg from the Creative menu, or
• Encountering it through natural nighttime/dark-area spawns in Survival worlds (Normal or Hard difficulty).

Abilities And Mechanics

• Health: 20 points, same toughness as a standard zombie.
• Attack damage: 4 points per hit, higher than a vanilla zombie's base attack.
• Movement: Adults move slightly slower than babies, who are faster and smaller in scale.
• Riding: Adult zombies can carry a passenger — a baby zombie may seek out and mount a nearby adult to form a jockey pair.
• Door breaking: Capable of breaking down doors to chase players.
• Amphibious: Can walk and swim, breathing both air and water, though prolonged submersion starts a transformation into a Drowned.
• Equipment: Can pick up and equip weapons dropped nearby, favoring diamond and netherite swords over other options.

Progression And Strategy

• Expect a tougher fight than a normal zombie — bring decent armor and a weapon capable of finishing it quickly before it can land multiple hits.
• Watch for equipped zombies; if one has picked up a sword, it becomes noticeably more dangerous.
• Defeating a Crimson Rage Zombie can reward you with:
  • Rotten flesh (always)
  • Redstone or red dye (common, more likely to drop when player-killed, boosted by Looting)
  • A small chance of iron ingots, carrots, or potatoes
  • A rare chance of blaze powder
• Killing one while riding as a jockey pair or catching it mid-transformation near water can create unusual encounters — like fighting an equipped zombie that suddenly becomes a Drowned if it spends too long submerged.
• Because they spawn in the same dark, hostile conditions as normal zombies, keep areas well-lit if you want to avoid dealing with these tougher variants near your base.
