    Defense

    Description:

Adds a craftable, one-block Robot Bat Cave (creative inventory entry and break drop included) that can wake when players or hostile mobs are nearby and periodically spawns custom Robot Kamikaze Bats; interacting with the block releases an extra bat up to a local swarm cap and natural bat spawns have been removed so the cave is the only source. The robotic bats scan for and home in on nearby hostile mobs, guiding toward the closest valid target and detonating with TNT-strength explosion effects (sound and particles) that apply damage to hostile mobs only while avoiding terrain and player-built structures — players are not targeted or harmed by these blasts. Use the cave to create controlled hazards, traps, or mob-control contraptions: place it where you want bats to patrol and activate it to trigger hostile-mob hunting behavior.

    Clockwork Blast Bat Cave

    Quickstart

    1. Gather iron ingots, redstone, TNT, and cobbled deepslate.
    2. Craft a Robot Bat Cave at a crafting table:

    1. Place the Robot Bat Cave wherever you want hostile-mob control — a dungeon entrance, a farm kill chamber, or a patrol zone.
    2. Interact (use/tap) the block to immediately release a Robot Kamikaze Bat. Watch it hunt the nearest hostile mob and detonate on contact.
    3. Stand back and let your mechanical swarm do the work — you cannot be hurt by their explosions.

    Overview

Clockwork Blast Bat Cave adds a single craftable block — the Robot Bat Cave — that acts as a self-managing, hostile-mob-hunting turret. It periodically releases Robot Kamikaze Bats: robotic flying creatures that lock onto nearby hostile mobs, home in, and detonate with a TNT-strength blast. The explosions damage only hostile mobs; players, terrain, and player-built structures are completely safe. Natural bat spawns are disabled worldwide, so the Robot Bat Cave is the only source of any bat in your world.

    How To Use

    Placing the Cave

Place the Robot Bat Cave in any dimension. Once placed, it immediately begins operating — no redstone signal or activation item is required. The block ticks continuously and will start spawning bats on its own.

    Waking the Cave

The cave becomes active when a player or hostile mob comes within 18 blocks. Once awake, it periodically spawns bats into the air just above the block.

    Interacting With the Cave

Tapping or using the Robot Bat Cave manually releases one extra bat immediately, as long as the local swarm has not hit its cap. You will see an action-bar message confirming the release, along with a bell chime. If the swarm is already at capacity, the cave tells you it is already swarming.

    Abilities And Mechanics

    Robot Kamikaze Bat Behavior

    • Each bat scans for hostile mobs within 26 blocks every few ticks.
    • It locks onto the closest valid target and flies directly toward it.
    • When close enough (~2.25 blocks), it detonates — producing an explosion sound and large explosion particles.
    • The blast deals up to 18 damage to hostile mobs within ~4.5 blocks, with damage falling off by distance. Minimum falloff is capped so even distant targets receive a meaningful hit.
    • Players are never targeted and take no damage from these blasts.
    • Terrain and structures are not destroyed — the explosion is purely an entity-damage effect.

    Swarm Cap

A maximum of 5 Robot Kamikaze Bats may exist within 20 blocks of a cave at one time. The cave will not spawn or release additional bats until the count drops below this cap (bats that detonate are removed, freeing up slots).

    Bat Stats

    • Health: 4 HP (fragile; they are designed to self-destruct)
    • Flight: Floats and wanders freely; immune to fall damage
    • Lava: Takes damage from lava contact
    • Drops: Nothing on death

    No Natural Bat Spawns

All natural vanilla bat spawns are suppressed. The Robot Bat Cave is the sole origin of any bat-type creature in the world.

    Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Robot Bat Cave at a crafting table. The recipe unlocks once you have iron ingots, redstone, and TNT in your inventory.

Breaking a placed Robot Bat Cave drops the block itself, so it can be relocated freely. It takes about 2.5 seconds to mine by hand and is reasonably resistant to explosions.

    Progression And Strategy

    • Early mob farm: Place a Robot Bat Cave at the entrance of a dungeon or monster spawner room. The bats will automatically intercept spawned mobs before they can reach you.
    • Trap design: Because the explosions never harm you or break blocks, you can safely place the cave inside enclosed rooms, corridors, or tight kill chambers without worrying about collateral damage.
    • Multiple caves: Stack several caves in a region to increase bat output and guarantee swarm coverage across a larger area. Each cave tracks its own local swarm cap independently.
    • Manual triggering: Interact with the cave to inject a bat on demand — useful when you spot a specific threat and want an immediate response rather than waiting for the next automatic spawn cycle.
    • Patrol zones: Position caves along travel routes. Their 18-block wake radius and 26-block bat hunt radius together cover a wide patrol corridor, keeping hostile mobs at bay passively.

Skybeam Sentinel is a compact, craftable one-block defensive turret: place it as a full block and it will automatically scan for and lock onto nearby hostile mobs, prioritizing the nearest valid target and displaying a clear electric lock indicator with periodic reacquisition. When attacking it channels energetic sky-strikes that descend to damage and knock back enemies in an area away from the Sentinel, and a single emerald-green straight vertical beam appears only during the actual attack/sky-strike (replacing the old scattered particles). The block emits light, is mineable with a pickaxe, resists explosions moderately, drops itself when mined, and is ideal for automated base and approach defense—craft, place, and let it guard your territory.

The Flamewatch Turret is an automated defensive block that detects nearby hostile mobs and fires faster, higher-origin flaming arrows with distance-compensated drop and short in-flight tracking to reliably ignite threats while you focus on other tasks. Simply place the turret where you want defense and it will automatically target and burn enemies—no micromanagement required. A recent fix ensures placed turrets now reconnect their firing logic after re-entering a world (Overworld, Nether, and End), so they resume firing instead of behaving like inert blocks.
