Celestial Pickaxe

Quickstart

1. At a smithing table, upgrade a Netherite Pickaxe using a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and a Nether Star. The recipe is also available in the recipe book after joining a world.

1. Alternatively, hold a Netherite Pickaxe in your main hand and crouch to transform it into a Celestial Pickaxe.
2. Mine with it to try its faster speed and extra drops. While crouching, mine a block to trigger its quake, which attempts to break nearby blocks.

Overview

The Celestial Pickaxe is a Netherite-tier pickaxe with greatly increased mining speed and extremely high durability. It can also produce bonus drops and, while you crouch, break a cluster of nearby blocks.

What It Adds

• Celestial Pickaxe: A single-stack pickaxe listed in the Tools & Utilities creative inventory tab.
• Divine Quake: A crouching mining ability that breaks nearby blocks, subject to reach and normal block-breaking rules.

Crafting And Obtaining

Use a smithing table with a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, Netherite Pickaxe, and Nether Star to craft the pickaxe. You can also crouch while holding a Netherite Pickaxe in your main hand to transform it.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Fast mining: For blocks the pickaxe can mine faster than by hand, its normal mining speed is multiplied by five.
• Bonus drops: When a non-creative player mines a pickaxe-mineable block with nonnegative hardness, the pickaxe rolls that block’s drops an extra time. Normal loot rules and tool enchantments apply.
• Divine Quake: Crouch while mining a block to attempt to break up to eight surrounding blocks in a face-aligned 3×3 area. Blocks outside your interaction reach, air, and unbreakable blocks are skipped. The ability has a 100-tick (5-second) cooldown.
• Durability: Its durability is high enough to be effectively indestructible during ordinary use.

Progression And Strategy

Use Divine Quake on dense, reachable clusters to clear several blocks at once. Since crouching also triggers the ability, mine normally without crouching when you want to avoid using it or are waiting for its cooldown.
