Quickstart

1. Collect amethyst shards (found in amethyst geodes) and sticks.
2. Open a crafting table and craft the Amythest Pickaxe:

1. Hold the pickaxe and mine any block — the entire 4×4 area around that block on the same face instantly clears.
2. Left-click enemies to deal 10 attack damage per hit.

Overview

The Amythest Pickaxe is a powerful tool-weapon hybrid. It functions like a diamond-tier pickaxe but clears a 4×4 section of blocks with every single mine action, dramatically accelerating tunneling, strip-mining, and resource gathering. It also doubles as a strong melee weapon with 10 attack damage.

What It Adds

How To Use

Mining: Break any mineable block while holding the pickaxe. The mod detects which face you are looking at and clears a 4×4 grid on that plane, aligned to the block you broke. For example, mining into a wall clears a 4×4 tunnel face; mining downward clears a 4×4 floor section. All broken blocks drop their loot normally.

Combat: Left-click mobs or players to deal 10 damage — comparable to a strong sword.

Unbreakable blocks: Bedrock, barriers, command blocks, structure blocks, jigsaw blocks, and end portal frames are never broken by the area clear, keeping your world structure safe.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the pickaxe at a crafting table using three amethyst shards across the top row and two sticks down the centre:

Amethyst shards are dropped by amethyst clusters inside geodes found underground or near the surface.

Abilities And Mechanics

• 4×4 Area Mining: Every block you break manually triggers the clearance of the surrounding 4×4 section on the same face. Offsets span positions –1, 0, 1, and 2 from the mined block along the two perpendicular axes, so the area is slightly forward-shifted rather than perfectly centred.
• Face Detection: The cleared area is always flat against the face you are hitting — horizontal for floors/ceilings, vertical for walls.
• Loot Drops: The area clear uses the destroy method, so every block drops its normal items.
• Efficiency Enchantment: Supports the Efficiency enchantment to speed up individual block breaks.

Progression And Strategy

• Early tunneling: Craft the pickaxe as soon as you reach an amethyst geode. The instant 4×4 clearing makes branch mining and staircase descents far faster than any standard pickaxe.
• Strip mining: Point straight down or straight north/south and mine a single block to clear massive flat sections with each action, exposing ores across a wide swath of stone.
• Repair loop: Keep a stack of amethyst shards handy. Each shard repairs 390 durability points at an anvil, and the pickaxe has 1,561 total durability, so four shards fully restore it.
• Combat backup: With 10 attack damage, the pickaxe is a competent weapon in a pinch — no need to swap to a sword when mobs close in while you are mining.
