Aerial Iron Guardian
Quickstart
- Craft the Aerial Iron Guardian using the recipe below, or find it in the Creative inventory. Its recipe unlocks when you join a world.
- Place it where there’s room for its full structure to appear.
- Interact with any part of the Guardian to launch it and climb aboard.
- Aim with your mouse, use W/S to adjust throttle, and hold Space to boost. Fire with left-click.
- Press Sprint to exit the ride. To call the unoccupied Guardian back, crouch and interact with it; interact again to mount it.
Overview
The Aerial Iron Guardian is a pilotable flying vehicle with six selectable weapons. While riding, a HUD shows speed, heading, altitude, and the selected weapon. The view switches to third-person while you pilot and returns to your previous camera view after you exit.

Controls can be changed in the Controls menu under Aerial Iron Guardian. Sneaking does not dismount you.
To launch, place the item to assemble the Guardian, then interact with any part of the assembled structure. The structure is removed as the vehicle takes off. After leaving the vehicle, crouch and interact with it to call it toward you; once it arrives, interact to ride again.

The recipe unlocks when you enter a world. Craft the Guardian at a crafting table:
Abilities And Mechanics
The Guardian starts with the Pulse Blaster selected. Use R and F to cycle through its six weapons:
- Pulse Blaster — quick shots with a small blast.
- Super Cannon — a heavy shot with a broad explosion.
- Cluster Missiles — a large-area explosive attack.
- Precision Laser — a long-range, focused shot.
- Arc Pulse — can chain from a hit target to nearby foes.
- Concussive Burst — a wide blast with strong knockback.
Aim at a target to fire along your line of sight. Weapon impacts can damage ordinary terrain, so take care when firing near builds.
If the vehicle is damaged, it explodes, ejects its rider, and drops an Aerial Iron Guardian item.
Progression And Strategy
Try the Pulse Blaster first, then cycle weapons to compare their range and blast effects. Keep some forward throttle for flight; reduce throttle to hover and line up a shot. Use boost to build speed, and call the unoccupied vehicle back when you’re ready to ride again.
