Skystrike Flyer

Quickstart

1. Craft a Skystrike Flyer with an elytra, iron, redstone, and copper.
2. Place it in an open area. The aircraft assembles from the main block and its Skystrike Flyer Part blocks.
3. Right-click the flyer or any of its parts to launch it. You immediately become its pilot.
4. Aim with your mouse. The flyer travels in the direction you are looking, including upward and downward.
5. Press W to increase throttle, then use left-click or Jump to fire at targets ahead of you.
6. Press your Sprint key to dismount. Sneak/Shift is not the dismount control.

Overview

Skystrike Flyer adds a rideable fighter plane for powered flight and aerial attacks. The plane has persistent throttle, follows the pilot’s view direction, and displays flight information while occupied.

The aircraft is assembled in the world as a multi-part structure, but functions as one rideable flyer once activated.

How To Use

Assemble the Flyer

Place the Skystrike Flyer item on the ground in a clear area. The main block places the surrounding aircraft parts automatically. Any position occupied by a block that cannot be replaced is left unfilled, so use open space for the best result.

The aircraft faces according to the direction used when placing it.

Enter the Aircraft

Right-click the main flyer or any visible Skystrike Flyer Part. The assembled blocks are converted into a rideable aircraft, and the player who activates it becomes the pilot.

Only one rider can occupy the flyer at a time.

Fly

While piloting:

The aircraft travels in the direction of your view. Looking up or down changes the flight path as well as the nose direction.

The flyer begins at a moderate cruising speed. W and S adjust its persistent throttle between a complete stop and its maximum speed. Releasing both keys leaves the current throttle unchanged.

Your view switches to third-person back while riding so you can see the aircraft. The flight HUD appears automatically at the top of the screen.

Fire at Targets

Aim the nose at a living target and use left-click or Jump. The weapon attacks the nearest eligible living target in the forward firing path, up to 48 blocks away. A successful hit deals 8 damage and produces flame and smoke effects.

The weapon has a short automatic cooldown, so repeated shots are possible without carrying ammunition.

Dismount and Reuse

Press the Sprint key to leave the aircraft. The flyer remains parked in the world and can be mounted again by right-clicking it.

An empty flyer gradually slows down. If the aircraft is destroyed by an attack from something other than its pilot, the rider is ejected and a Skystrike Flyer item is dropped.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Skystrike Flyer is crafted from three iron ingots, one elytra, two redstone, and one copper ingot:

The recipe becomes available in the recipe book after entering a world. In Creative mode, look for the Skystrike Flyer in the creative inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Powered flight: The plane has no gravity while occupied and keeps moving at its current throttle.
• Look-direction control: The pilot’s view determines the aircraft’s heading and pitch.
• Persistent throttle: W increases speed and S decreases it; stopping input does not immediately stop the aircraft.
• Single-seat cockpit: Only the first passenger controls the aircraft.
• Forward weapon: Left-click and Jump trigger the same weapon, which automatically targets the closest living entity in the firing path.
• No ammunition: Firing is governed by a brief cooldown rather than an inventory item.
• Automatic flight display: Speed, heading, and altitude are shown whenever you are piloting.
• Reusable vehicle: Normal dismounting leaves the flyer available for another flight.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the flyer after obtaining an elytra, since the elytra is the rarest recipe ingredient.
• Build or place it in a wide, unobstructed area so the complete aircraft structure can assemble.
• Gain altitude before attacking so you have room to turn and adjust your aim.
• Use short W and S adjustments to line up targets instead of constantly changing direction.
• Keep the nose aimed at a target while firing; the weapon is forward-facing and does not attack behind or far to the side.
• Use the HUD to monitor speed and altitude during attack runs.
• Press S before landing or dismounting to reduce the aircraft’s speed and make it easier to reuse safely.
