    Description:

Tideglow Algae is a living bioluminescent block that emits a soft glow and ambient bubble, drip, and sparkle particles to brighten water and shorelines; it now supports waterlogging so it no longer breaks when submerged and can be placed or grown in water without disrupting fluid behavior. Right-clicking a patch produces a satisfying splash and burst of bubbles and it naturally seeds and spreads across many stone-like blocks for subtle lighting and decoration, while breaking a patch reliably drops exactly one Algae Bit. Algae Bits are edible — consuming one heals 3 hearts but applies Slowness I for 30 seconds, so use them for emergency healing but be prepared for reduced movement afterward.

    Mod Wiki

    Tideglow Algae

    Overview

Tideglow Algae is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.5. It adds a living, bioluminescent algae block that naturally seeds itself across water surfaces and rocky shorelines, casting a soft ambient glow and producing gentle bubble, drip, and sparkle particles. Breaking a patch drops Algae Bits, an emergency food item with a healing trade-off.

    What It Adds

    Algae BitsEdible Itemtideglow-algae-4wihlbvi:algae_bits

Both items appear in the Natural Blocks creative tab.

    How To Use

    Interacting with a Patch

Right-clicking (Use) any Tideglow Algae block triggers a satisfying splash sound and a burst of bubble and dripping-water particles around the patch. No item is consumed; this is purely cosmetic.

    Harvesting

Break any algae block to collect exactly 1 Algae Bit (provided the block is not destroyed by an explosion). The patch does not require a specific tool.

    Eating Algae Bits

Algae Bits are always edible — you can eat them even at full hunger. Consuming one:

    • Restores 3 hearts (6 HP) of health immediately.
    • Applies Slowness I for 30 seconds, reducing your movement speed.

Use them as emergency healing when in danger, but be ready to move more slowly for half a minute afterward.

    Crafting And Obtaining

Algae Bits are the primary drop from breaking Tideglow Algae patches found in the world. A crafting recipe is also available:

    Abilities And Mechanics

    Bioluminescent Glow

Tideglow Algae emits a light level of 4, providing a subtle ambient glow to water surfaces and stone shelves where it grows — useful for softly lighting underwater areas without torches.

    Ambient Particles

While placed, each algae block periodically emits:

    • Bubble pop particles — gentle rising bubbles.
    • Dripping water particles — occasional slow drips.
    • Enchantment sparkles — rare glimmering flashes reflecting its bioluminescence.

    Natural Spreading

Algae patches spread autonomously without any player involvement. Each patch attempts to colonize nearby valid positions roughly every 2–6 seconds (randomised), placing up to 3 new patches per growth pulse. Spreading is also triggered periodically near each non-spectator player, seeding fresh patches up to ~48 blocks away.

A density cap prevents any single area from becoming completely overrun — once roughly 72 algae blocks exist within an 8-block radius, spreading in that area pauses.

    Valid Growth Surfaces

Algae can appear on or above:

    • Water (floating on or just above the surface)
    • Stone and stone variants: Stone, Cobblestone, Mossy Cobblestone, Stone Bricks, Mossy Stone Bricks, Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Tuff, Deepslate, Cobbled Deepslate

The block also requires an air space directly above the target position.

    Progression And Strategy

    • Early game: Tideglow Algae seeds itself naturally, so you do not need to farm or place it — explore near rivers, lakes, oceans, or rocky caves to find patches.
    • Emergency food: Algae Bits heal a significant 3 hearts and are always edible, making them valuable in a pinch. Eat one mid-combat only if you can afford the Slowness I debuff for 30 seconds.
    • Lighting: Strategically break and re-place algae (or let it spread) along shorelines or submerged stone tunnels to create soft, natural-looking ambient lighting without placing torches.
    • Stacking bits: Each patch drops 1 bit, so collect from multiple patches to build up a healing stockpile.

    Firewisp Seed

The Firewisp Bush is a dangerous decorative plant that burns anything that comes near it — entities that walk over it take fire damage and are set ablaze, and right-clicking any part of the bush scorches the player with a burst of flames; when broken the bush collapses as a connected multiblock and leaves behind spreading fire blocks at each position it occupied, so handle it with care. Firewisp seeds can now be thrown by right-clicking in the air (consumes one seed when not in creative); the seeds spawn a visible projectile that, on impact, ignites a 2x2 fire patch and triggers a short-lived spreading burn which places fire over nearby grass and scorches those grass blocks into podzol. These bushes naturally generate in underground cave-like spaces and near lava in the Overworld and are common across Nether biomes, and their collapse behavior works correctly for naturally spawned or reloaded bushes.

    Arcane Spatial Satchel

This mod adds a family of portable magical storage items you can craft and upgrade, starting with a fragile Frayed Pouch (9 slots) and progressing through the Stable Bag (27 slots), Arcane Satchel (54 slots) to the Spatial Relic (81 slots), each with their own animated dimensional UI, particles, and sounds. Bags hold persistent, server-backed inventories you open by using the item, with sneak-use actions to toggle auto-pickup on Stable/above or to apply upgrades using rare Spatial Thread plus XP; the Frayed Pouch can rarely leak an item, Stable Bag removes that risk and enables auto-pickup, Arcane Satchel adds automatic sorting, and the Spatial Relic gives void-styled visuals and remote access via a configurable keybind. Everything is obtainable through recipes (including Spatial Thread), shows up in its own creative tab, and includes safeguards like bag-in-bag prevention and auto-pickup cooldowns so the system is balanced and easy to start using in normal survival play.

Adds a simple per-player Seed Toggle that guarantees exactly one wheat seed whenever you break grass-type plants while the toggle is enabled. Press the default F key (changeable in Controls under the Seed Toggle category) to flip it on or off, and an action bar message will confirm the current state. When disabled, grass drops follow vanilla behavior; the toggle is player-specific and respected on multiplayer servers.

    Vacuum Hauler Cart

    Profile picture for tacticalblacksmithtacticalblacksmith100 Downloads

This mod adds a craftable Fillable Minecart: a sealed, chest-sized minecart with 54 internal storage slots that you place on rails like a normal minecart and whose contents persist through saves. The cart automatically vacuums up nearby dropped items while moving or stationary, does not open with a normal right-click (right-click shows a sealed-cart hint), and lets you sneak+right-click to dump all stored stacks at once with a short delay and cooldown. As the cart fills its appearance changes through packed, heavy, and overloaded stages with a growing, irregular cargo pile that now even displays representative item textures and models synced to clients so you can visually tell what it’s hauling; it is crafted from a minecart, chest, hoppers, redstone, and iron and is available in the Redstone creative tab for large-scale hauling and rail-based automation.

    Rainbow Clover Patch

    Profile picture for drewgoesboodrewgoesboo100 Downloads

The Rainbow Clover is a magical item harvested from taller Rainbow Clover Patches, 2x2x2 plant structures found in the world or placed from your inventory — right-click any part of a patch to harvest 1–3 clovers or break a patch to collect 2–5. While holding a Rainbow Clover you gain a rotating arc of rainbow particles above your head, occasional chimes, a passive Luck bonus that improves fishing and chest loot, and you gently attract nearby friendly mobs (animals, tameable mobs, villagers, iron golems, and allays); patches also slowly and safely seed nearby grass and dirt with subtle particle and sound cues. Patch visuals have been updated to taller stems and leafy rainbow-accented clusters, and the multiblock patch is now non-solid so players and mobs can pass through it while its outline and interaction remain usable for targeting, harvesting, and breaking.
