Sunspire Sandstone City

Quickstart

  1. Open the Creative inventory and search for Sunspire Sandstone City Wand.
  2. Place the wand in your hotbar and equip it.
  3. Aim at the ground where you want the city’s center to be, then use the wand.
  4. The wand launches a projectile. When it hits, the complete city generates around the impact point.
  5. Start at the central 25 × 25 fountain square, then follow the narrow streets outward through the neighborhoods.

Choose a clear, level area with plenty of room: the city occupies an exact 201 × 201 block footprint, extending about 100 blocks from its center in each horizontal direction.

Overview

Sunspire Sandstone City is a large, fully built Middle Eastern-style desert settlement. Its orderly plan combines:

  • A true central block
  • A 25 × 25 public fountain square
  • Dense residential neighborhoods
  • Intersecting one-block-wide streets
  • Single- and two-story sandstone homes
  • Usable flat rooftops with parapets
  • Eight perimeter watchtowers

The city is designed to be easy to navigate. Major streets and neighborhood routes lead toward the central fountain square.

What It Adds

Central Fountain Square

The exact center of the city is an open 25 × 25 block fountain square. Use it as your landmark when exploring and as the meeting point for routes through the city.

Residential Grid

The surrounding homes are arranged in a compact, evenly spaced urban grid. Houses generally use a 9 × 9 block footprint and are separated by narrow streets.

Homes vary in height between one and two stories, giving the skyline a more natural, lived-in appearance. Each house includes:

  • One clear one-block-wide, two-block-tall front door
  • A front entrance oriented toward a nearby street leading inward
  • Two one-block windows on each side
  • A flat, walkable roof
  • A continuous one-block-high rooftop parapet

Perimeter Watchtowers

Eight Middle Eastern-style watchtowers overlook the city:

  • One at each corner
  • One at the center of each outer side

They provide prominent landmarks around the edge of the settlement and help define the city’s defensive perimeter.

How To Use

Placing the City

The wand places the city at the location struck by its projectile. For the best result:

  1. Find open terrain.
  2. Stand near the desired center of the settlement.
  3. Aim at the ground or another suitable target surface.
  4. Use the wand once.
  5. Wait for the structure to finish generating before exploring.

The city is placed block by block, so large structures may take a moment to appear. The wand has a short cooldown between uses.

Exploring

Begin in the central fountain square and use the streets as navigation routes. To explore systematically:

  • Walk outward from the square along the main connected streets.
  • Visit the residential blocks surrounding the center.
  • Climb onto house roofs to move above the street grid.
  • Use the eight watchtowers to identify the city’s corners and outer edges.
  • Return to the fountain square whenever you need to reorient yourself.

Using Rooftops

House roofs are solid, flat, and enclosed by low parapets. They can be used as:

  • Elevated walking paths
  • Observation points
  • Scenic building locations
  • Defensive positions
  • Bases for additional player-built details

Take care around roof edges and tower heights when moving between elevated areas.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for this mod.

The Sunspire Sandstone City Wand is available in the Creative inventory under equipment. Search for its displayed name, or use:

/give @s com_sunspire_sandstone_city_2gm442fk:structure_wand

The wand is the tool used to generate the city; the city itself is created when its launched projectile strikes a target.

Abilities And Mechanics

  • City generation: A successful wand impact creates the complete city structure.
  • Centered placement: The impact location serves as the city’s center, aligned with the central fountain square.
  • Large footprint: The finished settlement covers 201 × 201 blocks.
  • Single placement projectile: Each use launches one projectile toward the aimed location.
  • Short cooldown: Wait briefly before using the wand again.
  • No combat damage: The wand’s projectile is a placement tool rather than a weapon.
  • Dense construction: The settlement contains complete solid buildings and towers rather than decorative outlines or flat walls.

Progression And Strategy

Sunspire Sandstone City has no item-based progression system. Your progression comes from exploring and adapting the settlement.

For a strong first visit:

  1. Place the city in a clear desert or other open area.
  2. Mark the fountain square as your central meeting point.
  3. Explore one neighborhood at a time using the connected streets.
  4. Climb nearby rooftops to learn the layout from above.
  5. Visit all eight watchtowers to map the city’s perimeter.
  6. Choose a home, rooftop, or tower as a base for further building.
  7. Add furnishings, farms, markets, lighting, and other details to make the city your own.
