Ironlight Metropolis
Quickstart
- Enter Creative mode and open the inventory.
- Search for and take the Ironlight Metropolis Wand from the Equipment category. You can also obtain it with:
/give @s com_ironlight_metropolis_selluy23:structure_wand - Travel to a clear area with plenty of room. The metropolis occupies a 300 × 300 block footprint and reaches up to 40 blocks high.
- Equip the wand and use it while aiming at the ground.
- The wand fires a projectile. When it hits, the Ironlight Metropolis is placed around the impact area.
- Wait for the city to finish appearing, then explore the roads, plaza, towers, and residential interiors.
The wand has a short cooldown of about 2 seconds between uses. Its projectile does not deal damage.
Overview
Ironlight Metropolis is a large, enclosed futuristic city built around iron, glass, and glowing architectural details. Its structured layout includes a dense road grid, pedestrian paths, skyscrapers, residential buildings, civic complexes, and a central plaza.
The entire city is surrounded by a thick obsidian perimeter wall with a continuous Crying Obsidian trim that glows above it.
What It Adds
- A massive futuristic metropolis approximately 300 blocks wide by 300 blocks long
- Multi-story skyscrapers and civic buildings made primarily from Iron Blocks
- Residential buildings with accessible interiors
- A grid of Raw Iron Block roads and pedestrian paths
- Smooth Quartz and Sea Lantern road markings and accents
- Light Blue Stained Glass and Tinted Glass windows
- Sea Lantern columns on building corners and major towers
- Flat and sloped modern roofs using Iron Bars and Smooth Stone slabs
- A large central plaza
- An illuminated Iron-and-Glass fountain
- The Ironlight Metropolis Wand for placing the complete structure
How To Use
Placing the City
Use the Ironlight Metropolis Wand and aim at a suitable ground location. The wand launches its own projectile, and the city is placed when the projectile hits.
Choose the placement site carefully:
- Leave a clear area of at least 300 × 300 blocks.
- Make sure there is enough vertical space for structures up to 40 blocks high.
- Avoid placing the city where important builds, terrain, or roads could be obstructed.
- Aim at ground level so the city has a usable base elevation.
The city is a large structure, so explore only after the placement process has completed.
Exploring
Enter through the enclosed city perimeter and follow the Raw Iron road grid toward the central plaza. Roads, avenues, and pedestrian paths provide a straightforward way to navigate between the major districts.
Use doors to enter residential buildings. Their interiors contain multiple rooms, lighting, and accessible floor layouts.
Wand Controls
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Equip the Ironlight Metropolis Wand | Prepares the city-placement tool |
| Use the wand while aiming at the ground | Fires the placement projectile |
| Projectile hits a location | Places the metropolis around that area |
| Use the wand again during its cooldown | Waits until the wand is ready |
The projectile has no normal attack damage, although its impact can cause knockback.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Ironlight Metropolis Wand is obtained from the Creative inventory under Equipment. It has no supplied crafting recipe.
The metropolis itself is placed by using the wand; the buildings and infrastructure do not need to be crafted individually.
Abilities And Mechanics
City Scale
The metropolis covers a broad 300 × 300 block area and remains no taller than approximately 40 blocks at its highest point. Its size makes it suitable as a ready-made futuristic settlement, adventure setting, showcase build, or large city hub.
Illuminated Architecture
Sea Lanterns are vertically aligned along the corners of buildings, houses, and major towers. This creates a consistent glowing grid across the skyline, especially visible at night.
Light Blue Stained Glass and Tinted Glass form large window sections and floor-to-ceiling facades, while Iron Bars and Smooth Stone slabs complete the modern roof designs.
Roads And Paths
The city uses a structured network of Raw Iron Block roads, avenues, and pedestrian paths. Smooth Quartz and Sea Lanterns mark lanes and add illumination, helping distinguish travel routes from surrounding buildings.
Central Plaza
At the heart of the metropolis is a broad courtyard surrounded by Raw Iron pathways. Its main landmark is an illuminated fountain constructed from Iron and Glass.
Accessible Residences
Residential buildings are designed for exploration rather than being closed facades. Look for doors and enter to find multi-room interiors with clean lighting.
Progression And Strategy
Ironlight Metropolis has no required progression chain. Use it as a complete city from the moment it is placed.
For the best first visit:
- Start at the outer wall and follow the main roads inward.
- Visit the central plaza and fountain to get your bearings.
- Explore a residential building and inspect its rooms.
- Walk the avenues at night to see the Sea Lantern corner accents and Crying Obsidian wall trim.
- Use the existing buildings as landmarks when planning shops, farms, transport routes, or additional districts around the city.
