Simple Tech

Quickstart

Gather resources – Mine Technology Ore (needs a diamond-tier pickaxe or better) in the Technological Mountains biome to get Technology Nuggets. Craft them into Technology Ingots, then use the Smithing Table to forge the full Technology tool set.
Build a power source – Craft and place a Coal Generator, then right-click it while holding coal to fuel it.
Connect machines – Place Energy Cables between the Coal Generator and a machine (Wood Farm, Stone Generator, or Growth Pot). Right-click each machine to open its GUI and watch the energy and progress bars fill.
Boost output – Hold Shift and right-click a machine with a Speed Upgrade, Energy Upgrade, or 2x Items Upgrade to install it.
Suit up – Craft the full Super Tech Armor set and equip all four pieces for permanent Speed, Haste, and Night Vision.

Overview

Simple Tech is a technology-themed mod that adds automated resource machines, an energy system, a powerful new material tier, an all-in-one magic staff, and a custom biome with its own ore. Machines run on energy produced by the Coal Generator, connected through cables, and can be linked to shared inventories using Item Cables. A full set of Technology-tier gear — including the indestuctible Magic Technology Staff — rounds out the experience.

How To Use

Power System

Place a Coal Generator and right-click it with coal in hand to load fuel. The GUI shows current energy and a fuel progress bar. Run Energy Cables from the generator to any machine. Machines display both their energy level and their work progress in their own GUIs. A machine pauses automatically when its output slot is full or a connected Item Cable inventory is full.

The Energy Battery can be placed in the world and right-clicked to open its GUI. Place charged Technology Armor pieces into the GUI slots to charge them from the battery's stored energy.

Installing Upgrades

Hold Shift and right-click a machine (Wood Farm, Stone Generator, or Growth Pot) while holding an upgrade item. A confirmation message appears when the upgrade is applied.

Item Cables

Place Item Cables between a machine's output side and a chest or other inventory. The cable will automatically transfer items produced by the machine into the connected inventory.

Technology Compass

Hold the Technology Compass in your hand. Your action bar displays the X, Y, Z coordinates of the nearest Technology Ore if one is within 96 blocks. If none is nearby, it reports that no ore was found.

Magic Technology Staff

The Magic Technology Staff functions as a sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe simultaneously and is indestructible.

Left-click to attack mobs or break blocks (mines any block that any of those five tool types can mine)
Right-click on blocks to perform tool interactions:
- Grass/dirt path creation (shovel)
- Extinguish campfires (shovel)
- Till soil / convert coarse dirt and rooted dirt (hoe)
- Strip bark from logs (axe)

The staff displays a flat 2D icon in the inventory and crafting grid, but shows a full 3D model when held, dropped, or displayed in item frames.

The individual Technology tools (axe, shovel, hoe) perform the same right-click interactions as their vanilla counterparts.

Super Tech Armor Set Bonus

When all four pieces (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots) are equipped at once, you permanently gain:

Speed status effect
Haste status effect
Night Vision status effect

Each piece holds up to 1,000,000 energy. Fully charged pieces glow and show the stored energy value in their tooltip. Charge them using the Energy Battery.

Technology Tools

Technology tools have exceptional mining speed and attack damage, surpassing Netherite. They can be enchanted normally. The individual tools (not the staff) can be repaired using Technology Ingots or Upgraded Netherite Ingots.

Magic Technology Staff

Indestructible — no durability loss
Enchantable — accepts sword, mining, and loot enchantments
Replaces carrying five separate tools; handles every tool interaction in one item slot

Progression And Strategy

Early game – Explore to find the Technological Mountains biome. Bring a diamond pickaxe to mine Technology Ore and collect Nuggets.
Mid game – Smelt Nuggets into Ingots, then upgrade your Netherite tools to the Technology tier at the Smithing Table. Build a Coal Generator and connect your first machine (Wood Farm or Stone Generator) to automate basic resources.
Late game – Craft the Upgraded Netherite Ingot and build the full Super Tech Armor set. Charge each piece in the Energy Battery to unlock the full set bonus (Speed + Haste + Night Vision). Combine all five Technology tools into the Magic Technology Staff for an all-in-one indestructible toolkit.
Optimising machines – Install Speed Upgrades to process faster, Energy Upgrades to reduce power draw, and 2x Items Upgrades to double yields. Connect Item Cables to chests so machines never pause from a full output slot.
Finding ore – Craft the Technology Compass once you have ingots; it points you toward nearby Technology Ore veins, saving time during mining runs.
