Orbital Hyper Cataclysm

Quickstart

1. Craft the Orbital Hyper Cataclysm item (recipe below) or find it in the Combat creative tab.
2. Hold the item and right-click to arm it.
3. Back away — fast. You have 10 seconds before the strike hits your current position.
4. After impact, the item enters a 20-second cooldown before it can be fired again.

Overview

The Orbital Hyper Cataclysm is a single-item weapon of mass destruction. When activated, it calls down a cinematic orbital strike on the spot where you stand, obliterating everything in a 200-block horizontal radius all the way down to the void. It is loud, dramatic, and irreversible — use it with extreme care.

What It Adds

A single, non-stackable handheld weapon. It is fireproof and will not burn if dropped.

How To Use

1. Arm — Right-click with the item in hand. Two alarm sirens immediately begin playing at high volume, audible from a great distance.
2. Targeting phase (0–10 s) — A layered reticle of particle effects appears on the ground at your position and grows in intensity. Sirens repeat throughout this window.
3. Beam descent (10–12 s) — A cinematic pillar descends from 200 blocks above the target, featuring a bright energy core, rotating soul-energy ribbons, and crackling sparks.
4. Impact bloom (12–16 s) — A massive explosion of light and particles erupts at ground level. Every block in a 200-block horizontal radius is erased outward and downward to the void.
5. Shockwave (16–20 s) — Expanding shock rings and portal-like distortion radiate from the crater.
6. Cooldown — The item cannot be fired again for 20 seconds after activation.

⚠ The strike targets the position you occupy when you right-click. Move away the moment you activate it.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world — no prior crafting is required to see it in your recipe book.

Abilities And Mechanics

Sound

Two custom sounds fire on activation: a general cataclysm alarm and a dedicated beam-warning siren. Both broadcast at high volume and will be heard by any nearby players on the server.

Visual Sequence

• Reticle — Layered ground-level particle rings that build in size and density during the countdown.
• Beam pillar — Spawns 200 blocks above the target and descends with a bright core, soul-energy ribbon spirals, and spark effects.
• Impact bloom — A burst of light and particles at the point of impact.
• Shock rings — Concentric rings that expand outward after impact.
• Portal distortion — Swirling portal-like visual effects linger briefly around the crater.

Block Erasure

All blocks within a 200-block horizontal radius of the target point are removed, processing from the center outward and from the surface down to the void. The result is a vast, flat void-exposed crater.

Cooldown

A 20-second (400-tick) cooldown is applied to the item after each use. The cooldown is visible as the standard item-cooldown overlay in your hotbar.

Progression And Strategy

• Crafting cost is intentionally extreme. A Dragon Egg (unique per world), four Nether Stars, four End Crystals, and two Netherite Ingots are required. This weapon is a true late-game — or end-game — item.
• The strike targets your feet. Always activate from a safe distance or use a vantage point, then reposition immediately. The 10-second window is short.
• 200-block radius is enormous. A single strike can hollow out an entire mountain, ocean floor, or built structure down to the void. Think carefully before firing in any world you care about.
• Multiplayer use is highly conspicuous. The alarms broadcast loudly across a large area, giving nearby players warning — but also revealing your location and intentions.
• One shot per 20 seconds. Plan each strike; there is no rapid follow-up.
