Midnight Symbiote

Quickstart

1. Obtain the Midnight Symbiote v10 Exclusive Core Slot item from the Equipment tab in your inventory (Creative) or via /give @s com_midnight_symbiote_wff2d3o5:midnight_symbiote.
2. Place it in your offhand slot. The core locks itself there permanently — it takes up no inventory space and cannot be displaced by other items.
3. Empty your main hand, then left-click (attack) to open the arms menu on-screen.
4. Pick any arm form from the menu. Your arm reshapes instantly — read the on-screen help text for a quick description of what each form does.
5. To activate Full Symbiote Mode, simply hold Sneak. You gain strength, speed, resistance, jump boost, and night vision for as long as you hold it.

Overview

Midnight Symbiote grafts a living blue-and-black alien symbiote onto your character. A single core sits permanently in your offhand/core slot, acting as the hub for all symbiote abilities. From it you can reshape your arm into nine different forms on demand, each tuned for combat, mobility, harvesting, or survival. Switching forms is instant and menu-driven, so you always have the right tool for the situation.

How To Use

Opening the Arms Menu

Stand with an empty main hand and left-click (attack). The arms menu appears on-screen. Select the form you want. A brief cooldown (half a second) prevents accidental re-opens.

Switching and Clearing Forms

Choose any arm from the menu to equip it immediately. Selecting Choose All clears your current form, triggers a 5-second reform lockout, and then restores every arm form at once.

Full Symbiote Mode

Hold Sneak at any time while carrying the core to refresh Full Symbiote Mode. This grants:

• Strength
• Speed
• Resistance
• Jump Boost
• Night Vision

The effect persists as long as you maintain the gesture. Crouch + right-click also triggers a full-mode refresh.

Abilities And Mechanics

Blade Arm

Pure melee offense — the highest base damage of all arm forms at 10 damage. Ideal for combat.

Axe Arm

Deals 8 damage and harvests axe-destructible blocks (logs, wood, etc.) at speed 10 with efficiency scaling. Faster than a normal axe for matching blocks.

Pickaxe Arm

Deals 6 damage and harvests pickaxe-destructible blocks (stone, ore, etc.) at speed 12 with efficiency scaling. Outpaces a normal pickaxe on matching blocks.

Shield Arm

Reduces incoming damage while held. Movement speed is reduced to 60% while the shield is active, so use it reactively rather than constantly.

Tentacle Arm

A flexible mid-range melee arm dealing 4 damage. Best used for crowd control or situations where the blade is overkill.

Web Arm

Fires web projectiles (3 damage on hit). The web anchor system has an 8-second pull memory — the web remembers its anchor point and can yank you or targets toward it. Useful for rapid traversal across gaps.

Wing Arm

Grants sustained glide and powered flight with upward lift and slow-fall. Flight state persists for up to 12 seconds after the last flight input, so brief interruptions do not drop you instantly.

Spider-Leg Arms

• Wall-crawling: grip and traverse vertical surfaces.
• Ledge-stepping: automatically steps up onto ledges without jumping.
• Full fall-damage immunity: no damage from any fall height. A brief cushion period (2 seconds) smooths the landing transition.

Vitality Arm

Activating this form immediately:

• Restores health to full.
• Grants saturation (removes hunger).
• Adds extra hearts above the normal maximum.

Core Slot Rules

• Only the symbiote core can occupy the offhand/core slot.
• If you drag any other item into the slot, it is immediately returned to your inventory or dropped at your feet if your inventory is full.
• Duplicate cores in your inventory are automatically removed; you can only have one.

Progression And Strategy

Early game — equip the core as soon as possible. Use Vitality Arm after tough fights for a free full heal, then swap to Blade for the next encounter.

Mining — swap between Axe Arm and Pickaxe Arm depending on the block you are breaking. Both are faster than their vanilla counterparts on matching block types, and neither takes up a tool slot.

Exploration and traversal — Wing Arm handles open-air travel and cliff descents. Spider-Leg Arms are better inside caves and vertical structures where walls are plentiful and falls are frequent. Combine Web Arm to sling across large gaps quickly.

Sustained combat — hold Sneak before engaging to stack Full Symbiote Mode buffs (strength, speed, resistance, jump boost, night vision), then front-load damage with Blade Arm. Switch to Shield Arm when taking heavy hits, then back to Blade to finish the fight.

Choose All is a reset option — use it to clear a stuck or unwanted form, wait the 5-second lockout, and all forms are restored fresh. Plan around that lockout window; avoid triggering it during active combat.
