Quickstart

1. Obtain a diamond pickaxe, a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, and a netherite ingot.
2. Use a smithing table to forge the Masterwork Tools pickaxe:

1. Equip it in your main hand and use it on stone, ores, deepslate, and other blocks normally mined with a pickaxe.
2. Check its durability in the item tooltip or durability bar. Mining intended blocks costs 1 durability, while hitting a mob costs 2.

In Creative mode, you can find it in the Tools & Utilities tab. You can also obtain it with:

Overview

Masterwork Tools adds a specialized forged pickaxe built for mining stone, ores, and deepslate. It combines very high mining speed with 10,000 durability and can also be used in combat, although attacking mobs wears it down faster.

How To Use

Mining

Hold the pickaxe in your main hand and break blocks as usual. It is specialized for blocks with the pickaxe mining type, including:

• Stone and similar stone blocks
• Ores
• Deepslate
• Other blocks normally mined with a pickaxe

Its mining speed is strongest against harder material grades:

Blocks that are not pickaxe-compatible are mined at ordinary speed and are not the intended use for this tool.

Combat

You can use the Masterwork Tools pickaxe to attack mobs. Each successful attack consumes 2 durability, making combat considerably harder on the tool than ordinary mining.

Crafting And Obtaining

The pickaxe is forged in a smithing table from:

• One diamond pickaxe
• One Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template
• One netherite ingot

The recipe becomes available automatically after joining a world. The finished item is also available in the Tools & Utilities Creative inventory tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

Durability

The Masterwork Tools pickaxe has 10,000 durability.

• Breaking a pickaxe-compatible block consumes 1 durability.
• Hitting a mob consumes 2 durability.
• Mining blocks outside its intended pickaxe use does not consume durability, but the tool works at only ordinary speed against them.

When the item reaches zero durability, it breaks like other durable tools.

Pickaxe Specialization

The pickaxe remains specialized rather than functioning as a universal tool. Its exceptional speed applies to blocks marked as mineable with a pickaxe. Use another tool for blocks that require an axe, shovel, hoe, or other tool type.

Progression And Strategy

• Forge it when you are ready for a long-term mining tool and want to preserve ordinary pickaxes for routine work.
• Take advantage of its increased speed in deep mining areas, especially when clearing deepslate and diamond-level blocks.
• Avoid using it as your primary weapon; combat consumes durability twice as quickly as mining.
• Keep a backup tool available for non-pickaxe blocks and unexpected fights.
• Monitor the durability bar during extended mining trips despite the pickaxe’s very large durability reserve.
