Lava Temple Survival

Quickstart

1. Gather Lava Ingots — craft them from Blaze Rods, Black Concrete, Black Dye, and Blaze Powder (see recipe below). These are the foundation of all Lava gear.
2. Upgrade your Netherite — use Lava Ingots alongside existing Netherite tools and armor at a crafting table to produce Lava-tier equipment.
3. Watch your HUD — two new survival bars appear on screen: Thirst and Temperature. Drink water bottles or step into water to stay hydrated. Seek warmth or shelter to keep your temperature in a safe range.
4. Explore for structures — Lava Temples and Creaker Nests generate in the world. Prepare before approaching them; new hostile mobs patrol these areas.

Overview

Lava Temple Survival overhauls core survival gameplay by adding thirst and temperature mechanics that demand constant attention. On top of that, it introduces a new tier of enchantable gear — Lava equipment — forged beyond Netherite, and populates the world with dangerous new creatures, custom biomes, and generated structures.

What It Adds

Survival Mechanics

• Thirst — a secondary hunger-like bar that drains over time. Drinking water bottles restores thirst, and touching water directly also provides a smaller recovery.
• Temperature — tracks how hot or cold your environment is on a scale. Comfort sits around the middle; dropping too low causes cold damage. Extreme heat zones push it dangerously high.

Lava Gear

A complete Netherite-upgrade tier of tools, weapons, and armor, all fully enchantable:

All Lava gear supports the standard Minecraft enchanting system — armor pieces accept Protection-line enchantments and Unbreaking; tools accept Fortune, Silk Touch, and Efficiency; the sword accepts Sharpness, Looting, and more.

New Mobs

New Biomes & Dimension

• Creaker Biome — an overworld biome where Creaker mobs are at home
• Limbo — a separate dimension with its own hostile mobs (Limbo Crawlers and Limbo Wraiths)

Generated Structures

• Lava Temple — a dangerous structure worth looting, themed around the mod's lore
• Creaker Nest — a Creaker mob spawning site generated in the world

All recipes unlock automatically when you join a world.

All Lava equipment is crafted by surrounding the corresponding Netherite item with Lava Ingots at a crafting table. You must have Netherite gear first before you can upgrade to Lava tier.

Abilities And Mechanics

Thirst

• Drains passively over time while you play.
• Restored by drinking water bottles (+35 thirst) or by standing in water (+18 thirst, smaller gain).
• Neglecting thirst will eventually impose negative effects, so keep water supplies handy.

Temperature

• Fluctuates based on your environment — biome, proximity to fire or lava, and cold areas all shift your temperature.
• A comfortable range exists in the middle of the scale. Falling below the cold threshold (temperature 20 or below) causes cold damage.
• Warming up near heat sources, or moving to warmer biomes, raises temperature back to the safe zone.

Lava Gear Enchanting

All Lava armor and tools are tagged as fully enchantable through the standard anvil and enchanting table. Each piece accepts the same enchantment categories as its Netherite counterpart — there are no restrictions unique to Lava gear.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game — set up a renewable water supply immediately. Water bottles are your primary thirst remedy; a cauldron filled via rain or a bucket system near your base works well.
2. Reach Netherite first — Lava gear requires Netherite pieces as crafting components, so full Netherite progression is a prerequisite.
3. Farm Blaze Rods and Blaze Powder — Lava Ingots consume both, so a reliable Nether fortress farm accelerates your Lava gear crafting.
4. Prepare for structures — Lava Temples and Creaker Nests contain hostile spawns. Arrive with strong gear, food, and water bottles. The Screamer and The Shaker are notably large and dangerous; avoid engaging them under-geared.
5. Explore the Limbo dimension — Limbo Crawlers and Limbo Wraiths make this dimension treacherous, but it offers a unique gameplay environment for experienced players.
6. Enchant your Lava gear — once you have a full Lava set, invest in enchantments. The combination of the Lava tier's stats and high-level enchantments represents the strongest loadout available in this mod.
