Lava Temple Survival

Quickstart

1. Manage your survival bars — as soon as you load in, watch your action bar for water-drop icons (thirst) and a thermometer (temperature). Drink a Water Bottle or step into water to refill thirst. Stay between 20 °–80 ° to avoid damage.
2. Find the Creaker Biome — explore until you spot the distinctive Creaker Biome. Raid Creaker Nests and defeat Creaker Golems to collect Lava Ingots.
3. Craft Lava gear — once you have Lava Ingots and Netherite equipment, combine them at a crafting table to forge the Lava Armor set and Lava tools.
4. Hunt a Lava Temple — use /lavatemple locate to find the nearest temple or /lavatemple spawn to force one to appear, then fight inside.
5. Reach Limbo — let a rare Tornado pick you up, or survive long enough to be whisked into the Limbo dimension for the ultimate challenge.

Overview

Lava Temple Survival is a full survival overhaul that layers thirst and temperature mechanics on top of vanilla gameplay, populates the world with new biomes, structures, mobs, and bosses, and adds an entirely new dimension called Limbo. The endgame goal is mastering the Lava gear tier and conquering the powerful boss known as The Shaker.

New Biome & Structures

• Creaker Biome — a revamped overworld biome home to Creaker Villages and Creaker Nests.
• Creaker Nests — structures that contain Lava Ingot loot.
• Lava Temples — erupting temples located via /lavatemple locate or spawned with /lavatemple spawn.

New Entities

Limbo Dimension

An eerie dimension reached by touching a Tornado. Entering Limbo grants a Health Boost effect that doubles your maximum health for two minutes. A jukebox-style radio plays custom music ("Burning Memory Theme") accompanied by a single dancing Limbo Radio Chicken. Limbo Crawlers and Wraiths are tracked individually per player. Defeat them all to summon and fight The Shaker for its massive loot and a way to return. If you die in Limbo, the entire encounter resets — you must clear it from the beginning.

Lava Equipment

A full tier of gear and tools crafted by upgrading Netherite items with Lava Ingots:

Armor — grants Fire Resistance and action-bar protection indicators.

Crafting And Obtaining

Lava Ingots are the key material for all Lava gear. Obtain them by:

• Killing Creaker Golems in Creaker Villages.
• Looting Creaker Nests found in the Creaker Biome.

Recipes are unlocked automatically when you pick up your first Lava Ingot. Every Lava item is crafted by combining the matching Netherite base item with several Lava Ingots at a crafting table (see recipe grids above).

Abilities And Mechanics

Thirst

• The action bar displays water-drop icons representing your thirst level (max 100).
• Thirst drains passively over time.
• Restore thirst: drink a Water Bottle (+35 points) or step into water (+18 points).
• Bottle use has a cooldown. Dying resets thirst and all cooldowns.

Temperature

• A thermometer icon on the action bar shows your current temperature (0–100 scale).
• Temperature updates once per second based on your environment.
• Cold damage triggers below 20 °. Heat damage triggers above 80 °. The safe comfort zone is around 50 °.
• Dying resets your temperature.

Lava Armor

Wearing pieces of the Lava Armor set grants the Fire Resistance effect and adds a protection indicator to your action bar. The full set is the highest tier of protection in the mod.

Lava Temples

• Use /lavatemple locate to find the coordinates of the nearest Lava Temple.
• Use /lavatemple spawn to force a temple to erupt near you.
• Temples are guarded by The Screamer boss.

Tornadoes

Rare funnel-shaped Tornadoes roam the overworld. Walking into one transports you directly to the Limbo dimension.

The Shaker (Limbo Boss)

• Deals a fixed 4 hearts of damage per hit regardless of armor.
• Summoned by Limbo Wraiths after enough Limbo enemies are cleared.
• Defeating The Shaker rewards massive loot and provides options to return to the overworld.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game: Immediately start managing thirst. Carry Water Bottles and stay near water sources. Dress warmly (or coolly) based on your biome to keep temperature in the safe zone.
2. Mid game: Explore the overworld to find the Creaker Biome. Clear Creaker Villages and Nests to accumulate Lava Ingots. Craft Netherite gear first — it is required as the base for all Lava recipes.
3. Late game: With a full Lava Armor set (fire resistance is essential), use /lavatemple locate to find and raid Lava Temples. Defeat The Screamer boss for its loot.
4. Endgame — Limbo: Seek out or wait for a Tornado to enter Limbo. The Health Boost on entry doubles your HP — use that window wisely. Methodically clear all Limbo Crawlers and Limbo Wraiths to trigger The Shaker. If you die, the entire encounter resets, so go in well-prepared with your best Lava gear and plenty of supplies.
