Koshka

Quickstart

• In Creative mode, find the Koshka Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs tab and use it on the ground.
• In Survival, look near villages: Koshka is an uncommon Overworld spawn found around village homes and meeting places.
• Bring a creeper into view and watch Koshka take flight and fire eye lasers at it.
• To try its action animations, interact with Koshka using your main hand to cycle actions; crouch-interact to stop the current action. This does not choose a combat target—Koshka finds enemies on its own.
• With permission to use commands, run /koshka to summon one at your location.

Overview

Koshka is a rare grey cat-like creature that patrols village surroundings and hunts creepers. It can fly to line up laser attacks, and becomes more dangerous when hurt.

What It Adds

How To Use

Koshka wanders when it has no target. Give it room to spot a creeper: it approaches, rises above its target, and fires when it has a clear view. Solid blocks can obstruct its lasers.

Attacking Koshka provokes it. Killing a vanilla cat also angers Koshkas within 48 blocks, which will target the player responsible.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Eye lasers: Koshka can attack targets within 24 blocks. Its beams can hit living creatures in their path and may set fire where they strike blocks.
• Growing intensity: Its lasers charge over time, and become more intense as Koshka loses health.
• Crash attack: At 75% health or lower, Koshka can pull away and then charge through its target, dealing heavy damage and knockback. With mob griefing enabled, the charge can break blocks.
• Toughness: Koshka has 200 health. Its attacks are strongest when it has time and a clear line of sight.

Progression And Strategy

There is no special equipment needed to see Koshka in action. For a safer encounter, observe it from a distance and keep solid blocks between you and its lasers. Avoid provoking it near village cats or buildings; its laser impacts and crash attack can cause fire or block damage.
