Description
Create a high-quality Minecraft Bedrock Edition addon featuring a custom aggressive Monkey entity with unique behaviors and smooth animations.Entity Details: Name: Jungle Monkey (or Wild Monkey) Appearance: Realistic brown/gray monkey with long arms, expressive face, tail, and detailed fur texture. Size slightly smaller than a player. Health: 20 hearts Attack Damage: 4-5 hearts Movement Speed: Fast on ground, even faster while climbing. Unique Features & Behaviors: Aggressive Nature: Monkey will attack the player on sight if the player gets too close (within 12 blocks) or if the player attacks it first. Special Attack Pattern: First it runs towards the player and does a quick slap/punch attack. Immediately after landing the attack, it climbs the nearest tree (any log block within 8-10 blocks) very fast. While on the tree it sits on a branch/log and throws small projectiles (like sticks or coconuts) at the player from above. After 6-8 seconds it jumps down and repeats the attack cycle. If no tree is nearby, it will still attack normally but try to find the nearest climbable block. Can climb any log, leaves, or vine blocks. Drops: Bananas, sticks, and rarely a "Monkey Paw" item. Animations Required (smooth & high quality): Idle animation (scratching head, looking around, tail swinging) Walking / Running animation (realistic four-limb movement) Attack animation (quick arm slap) Climbing animation (arms and legs gripping the tree while going up fast) Sitting on branch animation Throwing animation (from tree) Jumping down from tree animation Hurt / Death animation Technical Requirements: Behavior Pack + Resource Pack Custom entity using Minecraft Bedrock entity format Proper hitboxes Sound effects: Monkey chatter, screech when attacking, climbing sounds Works perfectly on Minecraft PE / Bedrock 1.21+ No lag, optimized for mobile

Jungle Monkey
Quickstart
-
Find a bright jungle or bamboo jungle area and look on grass blocks for a Jungle Monkey. They spawn in groups of 1–2.
-
For a controlled encounter, use the Creative inventory’s Jungle Monkey Spawn Egg.
-
You can also summon one with:
/summon com_jungle_monkey_cytskq5u:jungle_monkey -
Keep your distance at first. A Jungle Monkey notices nearby players within 12 blocks and attacks with a fast slap.
-
After attacking—or after being hit—it looks for nearby logs, wood, leaves, or vines and climbs upward. Watch the tree canopy for its projectiles, then prepare for its jump back to the ground.
Overview
Jungle Monkey adds a hostile, fast-moving monkey with brown-gray fur, long arms, a tail, and a detailed expressive face. It is slightly smaller than a player but has a compact hitbox suited to jungle terrain.
Jungle Monkeys are dangerous both on the ground and in trees. They rush nearby players, strike quickly, climb nearby vegetation, and attack from above before jumping down and returning to the fight.
What It Adds
- Jungle Monkey hostile mob
- Jungle Monkey Spawn Egg
- Banana food item
- Rare Monkey Paw collectible
- Monkey chatter, attack screeches, climbing sounds, and throwing sounds
- Idle, walking, running, slapping, climbing, sitting, throwing, jumping, hurt, and death animations
How To Use
Finding Jungle Monkeys
Jungle Monkeys naturally spawn:
- On the surface of grass blocks
- In bright conditions
- In jungle biomes
- In bamboo jungle biomes
- In groups of 1–2
They are more common in bamboo jungle areas. Use a Jungle Monkey Spawn Egg in Creative mode when you want to place one yourself.
Fighting a Jungle Monkey
A Jungle Monkey becomes aggressive when:
- You approach within 12 blocks and it can see you.
- You attack it first.
Its normal attack is a quick melee slap. After the attack connects, it usually searches an area around itself for a climbable block and begins climbing. Hitting the monkey also causes it to begin this climbing behavior.
When It Climbs
Jungle Monkeys can climb:
- Logs
- Wood blocks
- Leaves
- Vines
While climbing, a monkey moves rapidly toward a nearby climbable block. Once it reaches its perch, it sits above the player and throws small coconut-like projectiles at its target. These projectiles are represented by thrown snowballs and are accompanied by a throwing sound.
A perched monkey throws about once every 1.5 seconds. After roughly 6–8 seconds, it jumps down and resumes ground behavior.
Staying Safe
- Fight in an open area if possible; dense jungle foliage gives the monkey many places to climb.
- Keep moving when it reaches a tree.
- Look upward after a successful slap or when climbing sounds begin.
- Use a bow or other ranged weapon while it is perched.
- Avoid standing directly beneath the monkey.
- If you want to escape, move beyond its pursuit area and break line of sight.

Jungle Monkeys:
- Move quickly across the ground.
- Can path over water but generally avoid water.
- Can open no doors.
- Can climb and jump.
- Attack players rather than other Jungle Monkeys.
- Can be pushed by entities and pistons.
- Take damage over time from lava.
- Make idle chatter when a player is nearby.
- Use different animations for movement, attacks, climbing, perching, throwing, jumping, hurt states, and death.
Progression And Strategy
Jungle Monkey encounters are most dangerous in dense jungle canopies, where every nearby trunk, leaf cluster, or vine can become an escape route and firing position. Before engaging, clear a small area or lure the monkey away from the trees.
For a safer fight:
- Approach with ranged weapons ready.
- Let the monkey commit to its first ground attack.
- Move away as soon as it begins climbing.
- Track its position from the ground and avoid its thrown projectiles.
- Attack while it is perched or immediately after it jumps down.
- Collect Bananas and sticks after the fight, watching for the rare Monkey Paw drop.
The most reliable strategy is to control the terrain: open ground limits the monkey’s climbing options, while tall jungle trees allow it to repeatedly attack from above.
