Enderflame Blade
Quickstart
- Craft the Enderflame Blade using the recipe below.
- Equip it in your hand like any sword.
- Attack any mob — it will burst into flame on hit.
- Enchant the blade with Fire Aspect, then right-click/use the item while aiming at the ground to slam down a pillar of fire that burns and damages nearby enemies.
- Wait out the short cooldown before summoning another pillar.
Overview
The Enderflame Blade is a powerful late-game sword forged from the fires of the Nether and the void of the End. It burns everything it strikes and, when enchanted with Fire Aspect, can call down a roaring pillar of flame to scorch anything standing nearby.
What It Adds
- Enderflame Blade — a unique netherite-tier sword with a permanent enchanted glow and dark purple name text.
- Guaranteed Ignite on Hit — every successful melee hit sets the target on fire, whether or not the blade has Fire Aspect.
- Fire Pillar Ability — using the blade while it has Fire Aspect enchanted summons a temporary pillar of fire at the targeted location, damaging and igniting nearby creatures.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Enderflame Blade is crafted at a crafting table by combining Blaze Powder, an Ender Eye, and a Netherite Sword.

Abilities And Mechanics
Ignite on Hit — Any creature struck by the Enderflame Blade catches fire, dealing extra damage over time. This effect always triggers, independent of any enchantments.
Fire Pillar — If the blade has the Fire Aspect enchantment applied, using the item (right-click/use action) fires a targeting check up to 20 blocks in the direction you're looking. If it hits a valid block, a pillar of fire erupts there, reaching several blocks tall and lasting a few seconds before disappearing. Any entities caught within a few blocks of the pillar's base take fire damage and are set ablaze.
This ability has a roughly 10-second cooldown between uses, so it can't be spammed — plan your fire pillars for the right moment in a fight.
Using the blade slows your movement briefly while the swing/use animation plays, so don't try to activate the pillar while trying to dodge attacks.
Durability and Repair — The blade has high durability and only sometimes takes damage chance-based wear when used. It can be repaired using:
- Nether Stars (large repair amount)
- Ender Pearls (moderate repair amount)
Enchanting — The blade can be enchanted like a normal sword (sword enchant slot), and stacking Fire Aspect on it is required to unlock the Fire Pillar ability.
Progression And Strategy
- Craft the Enderflame Blade once you have access to the Nether (for Blaze Powder) and the End (for an Ender Eye), plus a Netherite Sword as your base weapon.
- Enchant it with Fire Aspect as early as possible to unlock its signature fire pillar attack.
- Use the guaranteed ignite-on-hit effect to whittle down tanky enemies over time, even without landing critical hits.
- Save the fire pillar for groups of enemies or tough single targets, since it deals area damage and ignites everything nearby — just remember its cooldown before relying on it in a pinch.
- Keep Nether Stars or Ender Pearls on hand to repair the blade during extended expeditions.
