Scarlet Hunger Knife

Quickstart

1. Craft the Scarlet Hunger Knife at a crafting table:

1. Equip it in your main hand.
2. Attack players or living mobs with the knife. Each successful hit fills the BLOODTHIRST meter by 3 points.
3. Watch the action bar while holding the knife. Fill the meter to 60/60 to unleash the rampage.
4. Keep moving once the meter is full to leave a trail of bloody footprints.

You can also obtain the knife from the Creative inventory under equipment.

Overview

The Scarlet Hunger Knife is a powerful melee weapon with a bloodthirst meter. Each successful hit feeds the meter, while defeating an enemy provides an additional surge. At full Bloodthirst, you gain powerful combat and movement effects and leave red marks as you move.

How To Use

Feeding the Knife

Attack a player or living mob with the Scarlet Hunger Knife to gain 3 Bloodthirst.

A killing blow grants an additional 8 Bloodthirst, for a total of 11 points if the hit both damages and defeats the target.

The meter is limited to 60 points and cannot exceed its maximum.

Reading the Meter

Hold the knife in your main hand to display the meter on the action bar:

• BLOODTHIRST 0/60 means the meter is empty.
• The red vertical bars show how full it is.
• The meter is hidden when the knife is not in your main hand.

Unleashing the Rampage

At 60/60 Bloodthirst, the knife empowers you with:

• Speed III
• Strength III
• Red damage-indicator particles around you

The effects are continually refreshed while Bloodthirst remains full, allowing you to maintain the rampage.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the knife in a crafting table using the displayed recipe:

The recipe uses a netherite ingot, diamonds, red dye, and blaze rods. It unlocks when a netherite ingot is available for the recipe book.

In Creative mode, look for the knife in the equipment category.

Abilities And Mechanics

Bloodthirst Gain

The meter only responds to targets with health, so non-living targets do not feed it.

Bloody Footsteps

When Bloodthirst is full, moving at least a short distance creates:

• A red-carpet mark beneath you where the space is air
• A damage-indicator particle effect near the mark

The marks are persistent and do not replace existing blocks; they only fill empty spaces.

Durability And Repair

The knife has 250 durability. Its durability can be restored with iron ingots using Minecraft’s repair mechanics.

Progression And Strategy

• Start by fighting weaker living mobs to build Bloodthirst safely.
• Use killing blows to fill the meter faster.
• Save a full meter for dangerous encounters, where Strength III and Speed III provide the greatest advantage.
• Keep the knife in your main hand when you want to monitor Bloodthirst.
• Once the meter is full, use the rampage to move quickly between targets and leave a visible trail behind you.
• Carry iron ingots for repairs during extended hunts.
