Overview
Flame Arrow\Divine Flame is a fire-powered combat item that launches flaming arrows without requiring ammunition. Its normal shot creates a fiery impact, while its sneaking shot creates a large inferno zone that damages entities and reshapes the surrounding terrain.
The item is single-stack, deals 4 attack damage as a melee weapon, and has 36 durability.
What It Adds
- A craftable fire-based weapon.
- A normal flaming arrow attack.
- A fast area-denial attack that creates a 15-block-radius inferno zone.
- Impact explosions that ignite nearby entities and alter nearby blocks.
- Flame particles around projectiles and inferno zones.
How To Use
Hold the item in your hand and use it while looking in the direction you want to fire.
| Input | Ability | Result |
|---|
| Normal use | Flaming arrow | Fires a flaming arrow at normal speed |
| Crouch/sneak + use | Inferno Zone arrow | Fires a much faster arrow that creates a large inferno zone on impact |
The two abilities have separate cooldowns, so you can use one while the other is recharging.
Abilities And Mechanics
Flaming Arrow
The normal shot launches a burning arrow that follows your aim.
When it hits an entity:
- Entities within 3 blocks of the impact take 15 damage.
- Affected entities burn for 8 seconds.
- Fire Resistance is removed from affected entities.
- The arrow disappears after the impact.
When it hits a block:
- Nearby non-air blocks within roughly 3 blocks can be changed into up to 3 lava blocks and up to 3 magma blocks.
- The struck block remains intact.
- Fire is placed above the struck block when that space is open.
Inferno Zone
Use the item while crouching or sneaking to launch the faster zone arrow.
When the arrow hits an entity or block, it creates an inferno zone centered on the impact point:
- The zone has a radius of 15 blocks.
- It lasts for 60 seconds.
- Entities with health inside the zone take 30 damage when it appears.
- The zone then deals 3 damage approximately every quarter-second.
- Entities inside the zone are repeatedly set on fire and lose Fire Resistance.
- Flame particles fill the zone to show its boundaries.
The terrain inside the zone is transformed when the zone appears:
- Water becomes lava.
- Other non-air blocks become magma.
The zone can harm its user, so keep your distance after firing.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the item at a crafting table using:
- 1 fire charge
- 2 arrows
- 1 bow
- 1 blaze powder
In Creative mode, the item is available in the Equipment category. Its command identifier is com_inferno_arrowburst_25alw2pp:my_sword.
Progression And Strategy
- Use the normal shot for a focused attack against a group or a distant target.
- Use the sneaking shot to control a battlefield, block a passage, or overwhelm enemies gathered in one area.
- Fire the zone arrow into the center of a group rather than at its edge to affect as many targets as possible.
- Keep at least 15 blocks away from an inferno zone unless you are prepared to take heavy fire damage.
- Avoid firing at valuable builds or terrain: both attacks can create lava, magma, fire, and large areas of hazardous terrain.
- Watch the action bar for the cooldown message before attempting another shot.
