Grapple Rider

Quickstart

1. Obtain a Grapple Rider from the Creative inventory or craft one using the recipe below.
2. Place it in an open area. Placing it creates the complete grappling-hook structure.
3. Right-click any part of the placed structure to activate it. The structure is removed and becomes a rideable vehicle.
4. Steer with WASD:
   • W moves forward.
   • A and D move sideways.
   • S moves backward.
   • Space ascends.
   • Shift descends.
   • Without Space or Shift, the vehicle slowly descends.
5. Press your Sprint key to dismount. The Grapple Rider remains parked and can be mounted again by right-clicking it.

While riding, the camera switches to third-person view and a HUD shows speed, heading, and altitude.

Overview

Grapple Rider turns a placeable grappling-hook structure into a free-flying, rideable vehicle. It has no gravity, allowing you to travel above terrain, rise into the air, and park it wherever you want.

The vehicle carries one rider. Your player is hidden while riding so that the Grapple Rider remains visible from the third-person camera.

Both items are available in the Creative inventory's Tools & Utilities tab.

How To Use

Deploying the Grapple Rider

Craft or obtain the Grapple Rider and place it like a normal block. Leave enough open space around the placement area for the complete structure to form.

Right-click any part of the placed structure to activate it. The structure is removed without dropping its component blocks, and a rideable Grapple Rider appears at its center with you mounted automatically.

Flying

The vehicle follows your movement controls directly:

• W provides the fastest movement.
• A, D, and S move at a slower speed.
• Space moves upward.
• Shift moves downward.
• The vehicle has no gravity, but it gradually loses altitude when you are not actively ascending or descending.

Your heading follows your player view. The HUD at the top of the screen displays:

• SPD — current movement speed
• HDG — current heading in degrees
• ALT — current altitude

Parking And Remounting

Press the Sprint key to dismount. Dismounting does not destroy the vehicle: it stays in the world as a parked Grapple Rider.

Right-click the parked vehicle to mount it again. A parked vehicle gradually slows when nobody is riding it.

To reclaim the item, hit the Grapple Rider. It ejects any rider, disappears, and drops a Grapple Rider item.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Grapple Rider recipe uses iron, a chain, an oak boat, and a fishing rod:

Recipes unlock automatically when you enter a world. You can also obtain the Grapple Rider directly from the Creative inventory.

Anything Miner

The Anything Miner is crafted from diamonds, a Nether Star, ender pearls, and a diamond pickaxe:

It does not stack and is available in the Creative inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

Anything Miner

Use the Anything Miner on a block to shatter it instantly. The block's normal drops are produced, regardless of its hardness or required tool.

Its regular use has several additional effects:

• Sneak-use in the air: Locate and teleport to a nearby stronghold. If no stronghold can be found nearby, the item reports that no location was found.
• Use while in water or lava, or while on fire: Extinguish fire, remove the water-breathing pressure by restoring your air supply, and clear the immediate hazard.
• Use normally in other situations: Summon an Ender Dragon 12 blocks above your current position.

Special actions have a short cooldown. Sneak-use takes priority over the other right-click effects, so use the item normally when you want to clear a hazard or summon a dragon.

Grapple Rider

• Flies without normal gravity.
• Supports one passenger.
• Can be activated by right-clicking any part of its placed structure.
• Can remain parked and be mounted again after dismounting.
• Can be reclaimed by attacking the vehicle.
• Automatically uses third-person view while ridden and restores your previous camera view after dismounting.

Progression And Strategy

Craft the Grapple Rider early when you want a fast way to scout terrain, cross large gaps, or reach high locations. Use Space for controlled climbs and Shift for descents; releasing both lets you drift gently downward.

Place the Grapple Rider in a clear, recognizable location when using it as a shuttle. Since it remains parked after you dismount, you can use the same vehicle as a reusable launch point.

The Anything Miner is best suited to experimentation and rapid exploration:

• Use it on valuable or difficult-to-mine blocks when you want their normal drops immediately.
• Sneak-use it to reach a nearby stronghold quickly.
• Keep it ready for emergency fire, water, or lava situations.
• Use a normal right-click in a safe area when you deliberately want to call an Ender Dragon.
