Fast Inventory Buttons

Quickstart

1. Install both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack (fast_inv) and apply them to your world.
2. Find any chest, large chest, trapped chest, barrel, or shulker box.
3. Sneak (crouch) and interact with the container — instead of opening the normal inventory screen, a fast-action menu appears.
4. Pick one of the four buttons to instantly manage your items.
5. Walk up to the same container without sneaking to open the normal vanilla chest UI as usual.

Overview

Fast Inventory Buttons adds a sneak-activated overlay menu to all vanilla storage containers. When you crouch and right-click (or tap) a supported container, a compact action panel replaces the usual chest screen and lets you sort, deposit, withdraw, or trash items in a single button press. Standing interactions are completely unaffected — the normal chest UI still opens when you are not sneaking.

How To Use

Opening the Fast Inventory Menu

Crouch and interact with any supported container. A stylised menu appears showing which block you are managing. Four buttons are displayed:

After any button is pressed the menu closes and a soft click sound confirms the action.

What Is Never Touched

All four actions protect the following slots no matter what:

• Hotbar slots (the bottom 9 slots of your inventory)
• Equipped armour

Abilities And Mechanics

Smart Sort & Restock (detail)

1. Scans the container for item types that also exist in your non-hotbar inventory.
2. Tops off those stacks to 64 by pulling from your inventory first.
3. Sorts all container contents by category.
4. Compresses partial stacks into full stacks of 64.

Automatic Hotbar Refill

A background listener watches your active hotbar slot at all times. If the item you are holding breaks or is fully consumed, the mod automatically pulls an identical item from elsewhere in your inventory and places it in the same hotbar slot — no menu interaction needed. This works continuously without any setup.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Use Deposit All after a mining run to quickly empty your bags into a storage chest without sorting by hand.
• Mid game: Set up dedicated sorted chests and use Smart Sort & Restock to keep them topped off and organised automatically.
• Void Trash is ideal to run right before or after a mining session to clear the six most common junk blocks in one tap.
• Because the hotbar is always protected, you never risk accidentally depositing your tools or food.
• The automatic hotbar refill is especially useful when using consumable items (arrows, food, potions) — as long as you have more in your inventory the next one slots in seamlessly.
