Eternal Timekeeper

Quickstart

1. Craft the Eternal Timekeeper using the recipe below.
2. Hold the item in your hand and use it (right-click / trigger interact) to open the Time Control menu.
3. Select Activate to bend time to your will — this freezes time and every entity in the world (including arrows and other projectiles) while you keep moving normally.
4. Open the menu again to pause/resume, rewind, fast-forward, adjust speed, or deactivate control entirely.

Overview

The Eternal Timekeeper is a mystical sword-shaped tool that lets you seize control of time itself. Once activated, the flow of time in the world can be paused, reversed, or sped up on command, while you remain completely free to move, fight, and explore. Every other entity — mobs, animals, and even projectiles in mid-flight — is held frozen in place until you decide otherwise.

What It Adds

• Eternal Timekeeper: A rare, glinting hand-held item that opens a Time Control interface when used. It cannot be stacked, reflecting its unique and powerful nature.

How To Use

Hold the Eternal Timekeeper and use it to bring up the Time Control menu. The options available depend on whether time control is currently active:

• When inactive: Only one choice appears — Activate, which engages the Timekeeper's power and freezes the world in its current moment.
• When active, you gain access to the full set of controls:
  • Pause / Resume – freeze time completely or let it start flowing again.
  • Rewind – reverse the flow of time.
  • Fast-Forward – push time forward.
  • Increase Speed / Decrease Speed – adjust how quickly time moves (from normal speed up to 10x).
  • Reset to Normal Flow – return time to its default forward pace at normal speed.
  • Deactivate Control – release your hold on time, letting the world resume naturally.

While active, only you are exempt from the time freeze — every other entity, including projectiles already in flight, stays locked in place until time resumes or you deactivate the effect. This applies across the Overworld, the Nether, and the End.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Eternal Timekeeper is crafted at a crafting table from a combination of diamonds, gold ingots, and a clock, arranged in a symmetrical pattern.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Using the Timekeeper has a very short cooldown between activations of its menu.
• Freezing affects nearly all entities in the loaded world, halting their movement and momentum — projectiles stop dead in the air, and mobs stand still.
• Dropped items and experience orbs are unaffected by the freeze, so you can still collect loot while time is stopped.
• You, the wielder, always remain free to move and act while time control is active — the Timekeeper's power never restrains its user.

Progression And Strategy

Use the Eternal Timekeeper to turn dangerous encounters into safe ones: freeze incoming arrows mid-air, halt a swarm of mobs, or pause a boss fight to reposition. Rewinding or slowing time can help you dodge otherwise unavoidable attacks, while fast-forwarding lets you skip through downtime, such as waiting for crops to grow or day/night cycles to pass. Because the effect is fully reversible and adjustable in speed, experiment with the different modes to find the right tempo for exploration, combat, or building.
